Chalet Inn & Suites, Centerport

Upon arrival I learned that the King room I had reserved was not available as the rooms were rented on a first come first served basis. This is regardless of the paid in full confirmed reservation I had. As it was late and I had no other options at the moment I was given a double bedroom. The room smelled musty, had few amenities, the molding was missing from the bathroom door, the steam iron was dirty and did not work, the dead bolt lock did not work and though the room was prepaid I was charged a $40.00 key deposit. The hot water in the shower could not be turned on. The mgmt had to come and use a pipe wrench in order to repair the problem. I recommned staying somewhere else even if you must drive 50 miles. I would rather sleep in my car. I would never stay here again.

The Chalet is not a place for people who want a pool or fitness center, but it is a place for people who are visiting LI attractions and want a clean, quiet, nicely appointed and very reasonably priced place to stay. Many fine restaurants, beaches, state parks, and historic and cultural attractions are nearby.

We stayed there and found the place to be convenient to the Centerport, Northport area; the room was clean and the staff very friendly. Overall, a pleasant stay.

If not for the bad, musty odor in the room I would go back to the hotel. We don't know what the cause was. At first we thought it was from the maid cleaning the room, thinking it would go away when the room was aired out. Unfortunately it never dissapated. Location: very convenient if you need to be in the Centerport vicinity, short walk to the Mill Pond and Centerport Harbor.

I am not happy and would not even consider staying here - A friend of mine called and held a room for us we are returning native LI couple - We never never were able to use the room never checked in and were charged $106.00 - I don't know about owner of this hotel but don't want to either he was not willing to accomodate us!

We are former LI residents and come back every year and when we do, we stay at the Chalet Motor Inn. It is wonderful!Great location, management very accommodating and rooms clean and comfortable.
