Great place to say
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/07
We have stayed at the Spouter Whale many times through the years. It has always been a nice experience and it always felt like our home away from home. Love the rooms with the kitchenettes too!! Kitchenette for snacks and breakfast and a wonderful ocean view. Can't beat it!!

OVER PRICED UNDER SERVICED
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/06
THE RATES HAVE GONE UP, BUT THE AMENITIES HAVEN'T KEPT PACE. THERE ARE RENOVATIONS, BUT THESE UNITS WEREN'T AVAILABLENOW OR FOR A LONG TIME AND WON'T BE FOR RENTORS. WE WERE MOVED TO DIFFERENT ROOM THAN WE THOUGHT WE HAD. WE TOURED THE PLACE ( A TIMESHARE TOUR0, BUT IT DIDN'T IMPRESS US. STAYING AT 3 SEASONS NEXT YEAR, YOU SHOULD FIND ANOTHER PLACE TOO.

Something funny here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/06
I am suspicious of some of the postings here. The Spouter Whale is not called the Spouter Whale anymore, it is the Navigator. I'm sure some people who stayed nearby, or posted observations just use the old name or are unaware of the name change, but some of the posters here must know the difference. How can someone actually stay there and not know? Since the property is not open year 'round, what's with the winter posters. The only people there in January was who? How can real guests ( versus ?) comment about what changes will be made, and how do they know prior to staying there? Because I am questioning the authenticity of some comments, I will not comment myself on the property.

Dirty and Dangerous
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/06
The Spouter WHale has changed hands again, and is now some sort of vacation club. When we went down this Spring to make reservations, the owner, Mike, told us that the motel would be completely redone by the summer. Since the whole place looked like downtown Baghdad, and there was orange tape around the place with condemnation notices from the town, we thought better of it and booked next door at the Colony Beach(ok, but needs an update, but that's for another review). Are we glad we did. We spent a whole week staring at the gaping hole that would have been our unit. Maybe they would have moved us, but to what? the entire property was torn asunder, and they had the audacity to raise the rates from last year. The wretched creatures selling the shares assured us that the "resort" would be "nicer than the Chatham Bars Inn"( which is overpriced too, but does have a roof-it's actually a beautiful hotel, but out of our price range). On a serious note, please don't take a chance on this property, it does not appear likely that it will be completed any time soon. Locals say that there are no permits.

Warning: Do not stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/06
I don't know exactly what is going on at the Spouter Whale, but it isn't good. When we went by it in the Spring there was orange tape around it and some sign from the building department, saying it was condemned or something. All summer ( we travel to the Cape often) the motel was a mess, with 1 building torn apart. Construction is one thing, but this was not being done professionally. There were all these sales people for some kind of timeshare sales there, actually living at the motel. We had been invited to see the property, but declined as nothing about it seemed right. Stay somewhere else. There are plenty of reputable motels ( and timeshares) in the area.

The Spouter is changing!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/06
I love the Spouter. This year they are going through a lot of changes. The same staff is there and are friendly as always. But the rooms are all getting a different look. They have a model unit to show and it looks awesome. Can't wait until next year.

Mornings on the swing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/14/06
We'll always remember the moment. The calm waters, the warm salt water mist, the smell of beach plums, the conversation. The perfect place to unwind and relax. The rooms were clean and the staff was very pleasant.

Nice Spot!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/03/06
My Family has been vacationing on and off for the last 15 years at the Spouter Whale Motor Inn. This last summer (2005) was the first time I returned to stay along with my parents, since it has changed owners. A lot of great changes are happening. The staff as always, were very helpful & friendly. The beach is right there! That's the best part. I really enjoyed my return. I plan on coming back this summer(2006).

Spouter Whale Changed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/06
We have been staying at the Spouter Whale for the past five years and when we went back the following summer there were new owners. The room was dirty and the carpet turned my daughter's feet black. There was a dead mole floating in the pool. The rates increased.

We love the Spouter Whale on Cape Cod
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/05
We love going to the Spouter Whale. The staff are nice and the rooms are clean. It has its own private beach. Very serene. Can't wait to go again next summer.
