Gross, Gross, Gross!!!!!!!
By L.Star, 02/02/10
This was honestly, The most disgusting place i have ever been to. My boyfriend and I decided to go in June, 2006 and we would arrive after 9. We were told a key would be waiting for us. It was in the mailbox. The first thing we noticed when we arrived is the nasty musty stale smoke smell of the room. Dingy lighting and curtains, just ugly! Oh did i mention we had specifically requested a non-smoking room! So we just tried to make the best of in and settle in. The sheets were tired looking, like they were mot changed from the previous people. The man upstairs had his TV blasting all night so loud either one of us were able to get an ounce of sleep. It was awful. In the a.m. I cut my leg on something getting up out of bed. My boyfriend turned down the sheets to find a GIANT hole in the bed w/metal sticking out of it. When we continued to take the rest of the covers of we saw these disgusting stains all over the sheets. It was so nasty i had to vomit. We noticed that morning in the daylight there was also wholes in the walls yellow stains on the walls ans ceiling and wholes/rips in the curtains. It was pretty bad. This past summer i found out my mom booked us a hotel in cape ann, when i found out which one i had a fit. I called to see if there had been any changes and the man assured me there had been several and that my family would not be disappointed. I tried to get my mom to reconsider but she did not want to try and find another room. We checked in and out in about 10 minutes! Still Nasty! If you are planning a trip to Cape Ann/Rockport this summer, just do yourself a favor and do not stay at this creepy place, it reminds me of the motel from Psycho! Creepy!!!!!!!

Can't Ever Go Back Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/10
This was our third time going there, also the third time in the Honeymoon Suite. Sad to say it is the last time.Smelled dirty and musty. When I turned down the bed there was hair on the pillow and sheets!!Needs a complete clean out and facelift. Great location is all it has to offer.

I will never go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/09
The room was filthy. Found used, dirty, greases brown paper bag behind refridgerator. Filthy utensils and dishes -- I wouldn't dare use them. Under the bed was filthy as was the rest of the room. Peeling paint on ceiling and gray/dingy towels. The bathmat had brown/red stains of it as if someone had previously bled on them. The only thing good was it's location -- than again, there are other places in the area that had just as nice a view and looked to be a lot more inviting. I will never go back; very disappointing. The next thing you can expect here are bed bugs. Check the mattresses....I don't trust this place.

Great place depending on what you are looking for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/09
The location was great, and from what we could tell from our stay in the area, it's one of the ony places to stay that are directly on the beach, and Long Beach is one of the few beaches in the area that is pretty much rock free. The price was great, and it accepted pets. The rooms are a little ragged and small, but we found it acceptable for the price we paid. I think it was a great place for a family vacation if you are looking for something direclty on the beach, and are the do it yourself type of vacationer. Suggestion: The rooms contain a queen bed and a pull out coach, but more then 2 people in the room would be tight. The rooms, or at least the one we were in, have ajoining doors, so if you are travling with more then just you and another person, I would get more then one room. Overall, it was a good choice for us.

Get the full story before you make reservations.
By David O'Reilly, 10/29/08
When I made reservations, I specifically mentioned there were four people in my party. They said it was not a problem. I expected two double beds. They forgot to mention that all rooms had one double bed and a fold away couch. When I complained they told me the only way to get two beds was to rent two rooms. Needless to say I got no sleep that night. Next time I go back to Gloucester, I’ll make other arrangements.

We can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/08
This was our 8th visit to cape ann motor inn. We go late in September. This is a great bargain. We get the efficiency room which contains a refridgerator ,sink and stove. This is not a fancy room but it is clean and neat. Muffins and coffee are available in the morning in a cozy living room . each room has an ocean view. We love sitting on the balacony outside of the room watching the ocean. The hotel is located on the beach and is assessible by walking down the balacony stairs. The beach is beautiful. We are an older couple but it is also great for families with children. We have stayed at more expensive hotels in the area but you cannot beat the location of this place. Can't wait to return next year.

Nice place for your family and your dog.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/08
OK . . . . If it was our anniversay or a special occasion, I would not pick this hotel to stay at. However, we go there for the ocean. Our children love playing in the sand and our dog loves running on the beach. We bring our own bed linens and it's not as bad as some of the reviews I'm reading.

Suspect Bed Bugs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/08
I booked a room in early September. The beach was very nice, but the hotel stay was a big disapointment for the price. The room was very small. The furniture was outmoded and cheap. There were cracks in the ceiling, and the pull-out bed is very uncomfortable. We found an injured seagull on the beach. When we asked for help from the hotel management, they were very rude and uncaring. Finally, the maid nicely offered to call the Humane Society. The biggest issue we had was that while we were staying at the hotel, we began to get bug bites which worsened when we went home. We had to exterminate for bed bugs.

Too filthy to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/08
We've been going to Gloucester for the past 6 years and staying at the Atlantis. However, the prices are a little high. So, we decided to check out Cape Ann Motor Inn since it is right on the beach. The outside looked great (being right on the beach), however, we looked at a couple of rooms and they were disgusting.. they looked dirty....I really didn't mind the fact that they needed updating, BUT......THEY SHOULD BE CLEAN...There was no way we could stay. Hopefully, they will read these reviews and hire someone else to clean for them.
