Cameron Estate Inn, Mt Joy

We made a reservation at the Cameron Estate Inn and later did some searching and were concerned with the negative responses we found. We decided to go anyway. What a pleasant surprise. We are not sure where the complainers stayed, but it was not at the inn we stayed at... This place was fantastic and the innkeepers were so helpful. They made our stay wonderful. The breakfast is awesome!!! All we can guess is the complainers were looking for something to complain about.. For us, you would have to look very hard...

The Cameron Estate Inn is a lovely historic inn in the outskirts of Mount Joy surrounded by rural farmlands and quaint little villages. The direct route to the Inn takes you through a modest town of mid-century rural home that helps juxtapose the simple rural life to the extravagance of the Cameron. The Inn is wonderful inside and our room was spacious and gave you a great sense of history. We were free to look through all the room on our own “tour” which was a delight. The Innkeeper was so nice to answer questions and point out interesting aspects of the house. The innkeepers were very friendly, and gave us a feeling that they were happy to have us. There are "Rules" posted in some locations and for good reason as it helps set expectations, well done! The staff was so knowledgeable about what to do, how to get there and pointed us to areas we would never have seen. The "gourmet" breakfast the first morning was divine; Apple pancakes to die for, with a special treat of candied bacon. The following morning was a Spanish Crepe (ok it was a breakfast taco, but you have to admire their creativity) is awesome. The Roasted red pepper sauce was excellent. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was one of the best meals ever. We liked it so much we cancelled our dinner reservation at another restaurant just to eat at the inn again. The staff is so caring and we cannot wait to return

This was a very nice place. It is not on any main roads and is out in the corn fields. The drive to the Cameron is peaceful and lets you see rural America. The breakfast is hearty and not just yogurt and bagels but a hot breakfast. The pancakes are the best ever, lots of syrup. We ate at the restaurant I it was great as well. They were so nice and helpful with directions or answering questions as what to see and do and they recommended an out of the way destination we would have never found. Best of Luck the Cameron

We hosted our daughter's wedding reception in the Carriage House at Cameron Estate Inn during June of 2008. The grounds are beautiful and make a wonderful location for wedding photographs. We worked with Randy (one of the owners) and Rhonda (the Events Coordinator) to plan the reception, and we were very pleased with their professionalism throughout the process. The chef did an excellent job with the food preparation, and the servers were friendly and efficient. We received a lot of compliments from our guests about how pretty the Carriage House and grounds were and also about the quality of the food and service. We looked into many different venues before choosing Cameron. Although Cameron falls at the high end of the price range compared to other venues in Lancaster County, they do a very good job, and their location gives you the opportunity to host a unique wedding reception. Make sure you read your contract with Cameron very carefully or you may incur some deductions from your security deposit that you are not expecting. There are two things I will specifically bring to your attention: 1. A complimentary one night stay at the Inn is included for the bride and groom with wedding receptions of 125 guests or more; however, that only pertains to standard rooms. If you choose a room that is considered an up-grade, the rate difference will be deducted from your security deposit. When you book your room, make sure you are clear on whether or not it is considered a standard room. 2. Cameron also charges an extra fee if your guests arrive early or stay later than your allotted four hour time period for a reception and that is also deducted from your security deposit. We made sure our reception ended promptly after four hours; however, we were not aware that some of our guests arrived a half hour early, so we incurred an additional $250 deduction from our security deposit. Our experience was that we paid $1000 security deposit and received roughly half of that back two weeks after the reception since the room the bride and groom chose for their wedding night was not considered to be a standard room and since our guests arrived a half hour early for the reception. Personally, I think deducting extra fees like that is a bit petty for an establishment of their caliber, but that is their choice. In any event, we were very pleased overall with our experience with Cameron Estate Inn. Our daughter and her husband enjoyed every minute of their wedding and reception and told us afterwards that their special day was more than they ever dreamed it would be. That made everything worthwhile.

The Cameorn Estate Inn was a delight. The quiet solitude of the country estate was just what we needed. It seams to be in the middle of nowhere where in fact it was close to all the places we wanted to see. Hershey, Gettysburg, the Amish, Lancaster, and the outlets. The restaurnat was one of the best we have been to and hte mansion so comfortable. Breeakfast each morning was something special and our overall time was well worth the trip.

We chose the Cameron Estate Inn not oly for the ideal location and beautiful grounds but pimarily for the professional and ethical manner we were treated from the first site visit and well after the wedding. THe Wedding coordinator and the innkeepers are wonderful to deal with and upfron about everything. The food the reception halland staff are what weddings are made of. You will be very happy with this venue as were we and our guests.

The Cameron Estate Inn is a one of a kind respite from the daily drudge. We were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful accommodations, unexpected antiques in the room you felt comfortable in using and the pastoral setting. If you are in a rush for dinne, let the staf know, they will make every effort to expidite your service, otherwise sit back and DINE, the food, service and atmosphere are exquisite... A definite "Do not miss"

Bothe a curse and a blessing the inn is located out in the middle of nowhere. It is a bit hard to find if you do not bring the directions but what afind when you do. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the inn. The restaurant is a "must See" and the rooms have a comfortable elegance that has to be experienced. Thanks for the great time.

We were disappointed with our stay at the Inn. We found the place through Select Registry, and purchased the modified American plan ahead of time. That was the first mistake. We paid for a 5 course meal, tax and tip for $100 (for the two of us). It turned out that the dinner entree included 3 of the courses anyway (a side salad and sorbet were two of the "courses.") The food was ok, the service was poor and the Inn hosts were not very friendly. The best part of the stay was walking the beautiful grounds at sunset. I wouldn't recommend this place given that there are so many other Inns and B&Bs in the area.

What a wonderful place! The Cameron Estate Inn is a bit hard to find in the middle of farmland, but what a find. A few houses on the approach bu as you pass through the gates you step back in time and the daily grind is instantly lifted. The hosts we great, full of information and NOT trying to be your new best freinds. We were greated warmy and shown to our rooms and given a brief orientaion and invited to tour the property of relax on the porch with a refreshing beverage. THe view form the porch is enchanting. The restaurant was WONDERFUL!. Breakfast was a hot and delightful (love the candied bacon). What wonderful memories.
