Rodeway Inn and Suites, Hershey

The management is family owned. They are great and very friendly. The breakfast was good. My family had a great time in the pool and the rooms were big and great. I would recommend this to everyone. I would definitely stay here again. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay this would be it. The distance to the park, zoo and the factory from here took less than 3 minutes driving. That is with the red lights. Stay here for a great price and stay cool.

I booked with them and cancelled (have a cancellation number) and they are giving me a hard time about accidentally charging me anyway....corporate (Choice Hotels) and the hotel are pointing fingers at each other....a big mess I still can't get fixed....stay away!

CLEAN FRIENDLY, HELPFUL STAFF THAT TOOK EXTRA TIME TO HELP GUEST. CAME UP SEVERAL TIME TO MAKE SURE WE WERE OK. POOL GREAT, WALKING DISTANCE TO THE PARK. BEDS NICE AND BIG. ROOM GREAT FOR THE PRICE. QUIET AREA. LOVE TO GO BACK AND SAY HELLO TO STAFF. BREAKFAST BEST AROUND!!

Very nice hotel for the price. nothing fancy just nice but a GREAT breakfast for those who don't like to spend money. Hotel clerk was very nice. Came up to room to make sure everything was alright. Pool nice water warm, plenty of towels. Vending machines stocked up , ice machine working. Very nice quiet location. Very close to Hershey Park. Love to stay there again and say hello to the staff. All smiles. no complaints from anyone who stayed there that night. everyone was happy talking to them outside the rooms where people gather to unwind.

Great place for the price. Very clean and roomy, nice clean pool and great breakfast. Waffles and coffee were GREAT.Young girl at front desk was very helpful to our needs. Walking distance to the park for young couple or teenage children. Would stay there again. Went to Springsteen concert at Hershey. Loved it.

We didn't spend a lot of time in the room, however the room seemed clean, but the bedspread and blankets looked soiled, but the sheets appeared clean. The room had an awful musty smell that did not disappear even though the air conditioner was on. The air conditioner woke us up several times during the night with a very loud hum. Very close to the park (Hershey) and the stadium. As previously stated, we would only stay again if we had to. We also thought the price was a bit steep for what we received.

I found the hotel great!!! The rooms were very spacious and my daughter loved the pool. We have been making a trip to Hershey each year for approximately 12 years and found this hotel the best thus far. We have tried to book for next year but thsir system only allows for reservations out six months. The employees were friendly and helpful. My sister's family booked a suite and it was great for them. The only negative that I saw was the Internet connection was not available in the rooms, which presented a minor problem for me. Overall, I want to do it again!!!

Our negative experience began as soon as we arrived as well--we were given the wrong room and price ---after several phone calls to confirm. The pool made us break out in a rash and we had cold water for 3 days!! I will never go back, nor recommend !! the worst hotel stay of our lives!! The staff and management were argumentative and rude. STAY AWAY!!! Loved Hershey Park!!

my wife was pissed when she saw in person what this place looked like, i was more like, "whatever, it's budget..." the inn is a few blocks off the main street in a residential area. the room was fairly big, 2 double beds and 1 single, one of the double beds had no support left on the left side and the rest of the beds were fairly unsupportive. there was a little kitchenette and standard bath. the decor was old maybe from the 80's and probably so was the carpet, very thin and worn. the lighting was dim in the room and to get to the room, the staircase was a bit dirty had cobwebs. didn't see any ant colonies in the room like the previous reviewer, but i wouldn't have been suprised if i had seen one. the pool had ice cold water in it so my kid wouldn't even go into it and the jets weren't even running. staff was nice, nothing to complain about expect not maintaining the pool. we had left a goodies bag in the kitchen cupboard when we had checked out, so we called them about 3 hrs later, they said they had it and would hold it for us. when i picked it up, everything was accounted for. we would not stay at this place again and now we always use this place as a measuring stick to as to where to draw the line when looking for 3 star places. to this date, my wife calls it the rodekill inn.

Our bad experience started as soon as we checked in. The staff at the front desk did not want to honor the rate that was given online and attempted to charge an addtitional $30/night. Eventually it was straightened out after 20 minutes of arguing with the front desk staff and waiting for the manager to come in to approve the change since the front desk staff did not know how to do it. When we arrived in the room,we found it to be run-down, musty and dark. However, given that we were traveling with 3 young children (including an infant) and it was later in the evening, we decided to make the best of it. At first look , it did appear to be clean, despite the desperate need for a makeover. The final straw came at 4am when I woke up and found (without exaggeration) hundreds of ants all over the bathroom sink and counter -- including on my hairbrush and in all of our toothbrushes. We followed their trail along the bathroom wall to a crack in the moulding. We decided to let the children sleep through the next few hours since there was nowhere for us to go anyway. By morning we felt too disgusted to even shower there, especially after finding someone else's hair in the middle of the tub. We immediately went to the front desk to complain and cancel our reservation for that night. They would not refund us our money or offer any consolation for the inconvienence. In fact, they wanted to charge us for the next night even though we refused to stay. They told us that we should've called immediately when we saw the ants and they would've sprayed. They also told us that we could've been given complimentary tolietries to replace ours. Overall, this is a low budget hotel managed and run by people who do not provide the friendly dutch american feeling that surrounds the Hershey area. I highly recommend staying away from this hotel!
