Last Resort?
By , 05/18/08
The NS room was clean, but it had a smoky/musty smell to it. I considered buying a candle, to help with that. Turns out, I should have. There was a power outage, lasting from 9:30 PM to 1:30 AM. No one came by to check on anyone, see if customers were OK, if anyone needed help. There was no power outage in Danville, and another poster has written that this happened when they stayed there, so, this is frequent. *Be cautious if you take meds, have an infant, or are elderly (or do not own NVG)- as it was black as PITCH at the inn.* Apparently, this is business as usual here. Not a problem, if you want a nightime adventure. Nothing was said to me when I checked out, and other places would have given a deep discount- not here. If you like tv, they had a decent choice of cable and HBO (and I believe you could play vide games, too)- alas, with no electricity, that's moot. The bed and shower were OK, the heat/AC was working, and the toilet flushed. If you'd like a bed and shower for the night for $100, and are a smoker- this is the place. It's s no-frills room, which is OK. The parking lot is a typical crummy PA road (watch for the deep potholes) and it looks like the grounds upkeep staff left with the Reagan administration, but things like that will cost you more. If you just want a place to crash for the night and are not looking for any ammenities- this is your place. You might want to take flashlights with you.

Really Bad - Think Twice
By Chris, 04/28/08
Although a pretty rural area, this is a pretty busy place for hotel stays due to its location on Rte 80. Figuring I would not be staying long I booked to stay at the Red Roof Danville based on price. Big mistake. This hotel is way over due for a total gutting and renovation. Everything is outdated and the rooms reak of smoke. Don't let a room labeled as non-smoking mean anything to you as these rooms were either previously smoking rooms and never remodeled since or people still smoke in them. My advice is either pay $30 more and stay in one of the brand new hotels close by or sleep in your car.

Knoebels Trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/07
Great, price. Hotel was clean, Employees were very nice. Located within distance to several restruants. Ice was free here as well, we filled up our cooler for Knoebels. Great value will stay next Summer for our Knoebels trip!

Good value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/26/06
I made reservations over the internet and all went well. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable but outdated. It could use renovation to make it "look new" but I guess that would drive the price up. It was a good stay for the money.

Will stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/06
We've stayed several times at this Red Roof Inn and found it very nice. The manager, Rosemary, was great and very helpful. We also found the staff to be very friendly. We travel with our dog and this motel is in a nice area to walk the dog. There is also a Friendly's Restaurant right next door which is very convenient. We will definitely stay again on our next trip.

Not a good experience
By Ed, 06/28/05
I made reservations via internet. I thought for a great price. However, upon check out, found that the room was charged for a higher amount than the reservation price I had booked through the internet. There was no electricity, so no air conditioning, it was hot, no tv, no radio, no phone service. Due to a power failure that lasted until 4 or 5 am in the morning. Upon check-out we were charged a higher amount than what was booked, with no discount because of the power failure. I will not return. There are plenty of hotels/motels in the area, and next time I will drive right past this one.
