Easy location, quaint and friendly.
By Lori, 07/30/09
We were waiting to take the ferry across to NY the next day and after a long day this was home for the night. The owner was friendly and lent our daughter tennis raquettes and balls to play out back. Hotel cat was very friendly and sweet to cuddle as you check in. The place is older and in that regard charming. We found the beds to be decent and everything clean. It's not luxury, nor would you expect luxury. It is close to food and shops and very close to the ferry. It is close to road and a bit loud in the morning but we were getting up early anyways. I'd most likely go back, it's not the most fantastic place ever, but it is clean, fairly reasonable and convenient with friendly staff. A stop over night kind of place for us.

Do not go there - worst customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/09
My family stayed there for one night in June 09 and had problems with quoted price vs. what desk clerk Robin wanted to charge us. She is rude and dis not hesitate to bad mouth you or call you a liar. Funny thing is as I was discussing this with her another person called and she yelled at them over the phone in front of me. I am never going back there.

Great Little Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/07
Lovely family run motel. Exceptionally clean and quiet. I was amazed to find guests from so many different countries visiting and much enjoyed chatting with them over breakfast. (Evidently this motel is listed in European tour guides). Would recommend for a most pleasant stay.

Glad I chose this Motel!
By brimu, 04/11/07
I absolutely loved staying here. I found out about it through Yahoo Travel and the most recent reviews informed me that the owners had changed for the better. I stayed in a non suite room for about $50 a night for three nights and I got to tell you this is a really nice place to stay. I came to visit Champlain College and it's about a 10-15 minute walk there and about 10 minites from downtown which is really nice too. What's also great about the location is that there's a convenience store "Rotary Markt" right next door if you need some munchies, drinks, etc. They're open till 11pm which is also practical. And there's also a Dunkin' Donuts down south. The family who runs the hotel is super nice and will try to help you with any problems you should have. And it really doesn't matter what time you come. I came around 10pm and it was no problem to check-in. The room itself was very cozy and home-like. It was very spotless when I checked-in, but here's where I gotta give a slight thumbs-down. There was a slight smell of mold comming from the carpet I think. But it didn't really bother me since I didn't even take notice after a minute or two inside, it's nothing that makes one feel uncomfortable or disgusted. The bathroom is well equiped with plenty of towels, soap and plastic cups and was very clean. And some last comments: the wireless internet was very fast although I had to scout around the room to find a good signal (near the window). I like the fact that there are two desks a comfy lounge chair and lots of lights in the room. This really is a great place to stay and you honestly can't beat it for the price! I'm very likely to come here again when I go visit Burlington.

A best kept secret gem!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/07
This easy to reach (just a mile or so off Rte. 89) motel was exceptionally clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hosts were friendly and the hostess waited up for me to get in when I was unavoidably delayed. They even sent back my phone charger accidentally left in the room. We can't wait to go back there, and, in fact, this will be our motel of choice whenever we visit Burlington, VT!

cesspool on champlain...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/06
"suite" was sub par....from the dank, dirty carpeting to the dead bugs on the bathroom ceiling...like an overpriced room at a not-so-quaint grandma's house. disregard the fact that the dishonest owners tried to charge extra for smoking in the room because it did smell like cigarettes....the instant we opened the door. beds were in poor condition and uncomfortable. not recommended.

Awesome Motel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/06
Our stay at the Belaire was totally great. The accomodations were fabulous, as were the family who now runs it. It is under new management since Jan. 06. It is also located in an area that is close to downtown, lakes and shopping. My family and I cannot wait to go there again. Burlington has alot to see and do and the Belaire is one of the best we have ever stayed at.

We will be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/06
This motel was excellent, the service was great and the rooms were so clean. The young man at the office explain that his family purchased the motel early in 2006 and they tried to renovate all of the rooms before the busy season. They did a wonderful job!! The previous review is not true, it is under new management, and that person stayed in July of 2004, nearly 2 years ago... **THAT REVIEW IS NOT TRUE AT ALL.** I rate this motel Number 1. The family who owns it was so nice to me and I will be back soon! The location is great, so close to downtown with hundreds of stores and shops and close to the airport as well. Please go and try out this motel, you will be happy with the turn out.

Don't go here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/06
It looked so cute in the beginning until we found out that it wasn't as clean as it first appeared- plus someone tried to enter the room while we were in it- I'll leave it at that! Obviously, I do not recommend unless it recently went under new management!
