300 yards to the beach???
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/07
After spending 4 long hours in the car traveling from Connecticut, we arrived at the Inn on 8/18. We were checked in by a woman who didn't ask for proof of AAA membership who booked the reservation for us. My mom asked jokingly if they gave a senior discount and the woman looked at my mother suddenly grew a second head. We find that our room is on the 2nd floor which wouldn't be a problem if their steps weren't so steep and they have no elevator.
During dinner, we realized that this 2nd flr wasn't going to be comfortable for the 2 of us so I stopped back at the desk on the way back in and met "Randy". Randy said that it wouldn't be a problem to move us to a room on the 1st floor since they were having a lot of people check out on Sunday. We go out Sunday morning and leave the key with "Randy" who it turns out actually owns the inn. We go back later in the afternoon and Randy tells me that our stuff has been moved to Room #23 in the back of the inn which i thought was great since that meant we were closer to the parking lot. We open the door to the room and are immediately greeted by the smell of stale, musty air and an awful noise which turns out is a humidifier which was left running for us (how sweet). After several hours of staying in that horrific room, my mom went back up to the desk to inquire if we could be moved again in the morning. She was greeted by Randy and was basically told "that if you are going to be this picky, we should have been told all of this when the room was booked."
Their brochure boasts on being 300 yards to the beach. That would be true if they were right on the beach instead of being across from it with private homes blocking the view.
