GOING FOR OVER 10 YRS
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/09
we like the location. the rooms are big enough and clean mostly. the price is right. the owner knows us now and doesn't require us to put down a deposit. they also give us the room we ask for. we love the privacy of the decks on the farside bldg.the beds are very comfortable. it's close to down but far enough away to enjoy not being crowded together. it appears to be a mostly adult place so it's kinda quiet. it also has wild blueberry's where we stay and wild strawberries. i would recomend it to anyone who doesn't mind a no frills place with a very nice view. we bought our cousins with us last year the loved it. i think a microwave would be nice and a small refigerator would be nice too. and a little more dtailed cleaning would be nice the rooms aren't dirty but the little out of the way spots can go uncleaned.we're kinda tickled at this point that we get along with the owner of the hotel. and some of the area business know us when we go to their establishments,.

Stayed 15 minutes and then checked out
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/08
While looking for motels in Maine, we came across Ship Ahoy. It had everything we wanted, cheap, great view and a swimming pool. We decided this was the motel we wanted to stay at for a week. When we were checking in the lady was real helpful and very nice. After we got our key we walked to our room we spent about 10 minutes trying to get into the room. Finally we got the door open. Walking into the room, we thought it was ok. We sat down and looked around. The one window in front didnt shut at the top, there was about an inch gap where the window was suppose be attached to the frame. The door, well we found out what the problem was. The door wasnt even put on straight. The left hand side had a gap ranging from 1 to 2 inches. Dead bugs in the corner. Being 2 females alone in Maine, we decided that this motel was not for safe for us. We went to the front desk and told the lady that helped us before, that we weren't happy with the room. Her attitude changed after we told her all the problems and that we didnt feel safe. After a long conversation with her, we ended up getting a refund and finding a very nice motel along the bay.

No frills
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/06
Far East has the good views Ship Ahoy Waterfront has ok, somewhat obstructed views The main Ship Ahoy looks at the other two buildings. Breakfast (not included) is cheap packaged pastries. Our room was not vacuumed, and somewhat worn out - broken screen door, etc. "beach" was a joke. Pool is about 3' deep. No phones

Good Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/06
The place is clean and friendly but it could use a lot of updating. Beautiful views of the water from your porch. Not very far away from Boothbay Harbor. Nice and secluded location.

Best Bargain Around
By Ann Woods, 07/12/04
Ship Ahoy Motel has been a long time favorite of ours. We've stayed at many Boothbay & Southport Hotels - If you don't neeed luxury, just want a large clean motel room with a spectacular view at a great rate, this is the place.

ship ahoy is great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/04
I love ship ahoy motel. Its a great laid back, family atmosphere, which is great to come to as a big group. The location is GORGEOUS and the coffee shop for breakfast is awesome. It is in a convenient location in an exceptionally great city. My extended family comes here every year as a big group and we stay in the deluxe rooms. They are spacious and homey. All in all, this motel ROCKS!!!
