Warning - DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE
By ,
Major renovations taking place at the moment, which they should have mentioned when we booked. Had to request to change room, as the banging from the reno's was unbelievably loud. Patio/veranda hardly worth the space they take up, barely able to fit 2 people on it. TV had 3 channels. We had to walk over broken tiles covered by tarps to get to the lift (very dangerous). Had to wait for the tradesman to finish working around the lift before we could get in. Lift itself took ages and ages to arrive. Our suitcase, shoes and clothes were covered in dust from where they were sanding back paint. We also had to walk underneath where they were painting the ceiling, with white paint dripping. Reception area was disgusting and dirty, everything is covered in dust / paint. Not a nice experience at all, we ended up checking out early after 1 night. I feel we should have been paid to stay there, not us pay to stay there. We found better accommodation in the centre of the queen street mail, for the same price we paid at this dump ($159 per night)

DON'T STAY HERE!!
By ,
The hotel is under going major refurbishments. They forgot to advise me of this fact when I booked. No hot water! I couldn't believe it. I complained on the first day I arrived, then still no hot water later in the day, just tepid. That night it warmed up abit more but not hot enough. I was leaving the next morning and the water was stone cold. I kept complaining but they didn't seem too interested. A busted pipe was dripping water onto there reception area, and they had a tarp over there computers to stop them getting wet! Plus when I arrived home i noticed there were two beers on my bill from the mini bar. I don't even drink beer! Got them to refund this and part of the bill. Only after a major discussion did they agree to some refund.

This is an exciting place
By ,
The location of this hotel is good for relax, and mostly, their staffs were very friendly and helpful, they offer good services to the room guest. Besides these, the room service also performed an excellent standard. I recomended this hotel to my friends when they stay in Brisbane.

Shame
By ,
Having stayed in this hotel 3 years in a row over New Years, im dissapointed to see that with every passing year, it has slid downhill in quality, despite being on of the highest buildings near the CBD. The only advantage to this old motel is its location!! strongly advise against staying here!!!

A few \"bugs\" to work out
By ,
Nice location, nice balcony, nice sized room...however, the giant cockroach in the room was a turn off, and when the front desk staff was informed of this, they seemed extremely unconcerned. nice breakfast and breakfast room...Attitude could be better, rooms are rundown...not really service oriented, and if you don't want to share your room with large, uanpealling insects, this is not the place for you!

Don't stay there!!!
By ,
I went for a convention last week. What a dissapointment of place!. The people was so rude and gives you an attitude. I lost an important meeting because they forgot to wake me up at the time I asked. The rooms and the hotel are old and not well cared. I have prefered to pay more and stay in a better and nicer place. The people that works there need to take classes of good behaviour and manners. ADVICE: DO NOT STAY THERE!

Would never stay there again !!
By ,
This hotel was awful. They have a central location and thats the plus to this hotel. They forget to give people wake up calls so if you have an important meeting to attend i would say dont stay here. The people there are not too friendly either and when asked to book a cab they tend to forget. The room wasnt great either...i would say expensive for that kind of a room. I would rather stay in some other place and pay more.

Dont' believe what you read
By ,
It was advertised as a three start hotel, but did not live up that that standard. The room was shabby and not in the chic way. The furniture was banged up, the carpet worn and stained, the paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom, but the room was clean. The room was of good size but the balcony was very small and not usable. The elevators were old, and in fact the first night I got stuck in the elevator with three older couples for half an hour before they got the repair guy on the premises. The location was good, quiet neighborhood, ten minutes walk to the CBD. Service was minimal but friendly. The price was right but the star rating was not. I expected a little more from a three star hotel.
