Cairns Holiday Lodge, Cairns

This place is very nice; I would go again. I saved hundreds of dollars by staying here instead of a four or five-star hotel, which would have been nice but certainly didn't need. If you want to save money better spent on great restaurants and fabulous tours, stay at the Cairns Holiday Lodge. Also, rent a car across the street--only a couple of miles from city center and great restaurants. Tours can be booked from the Lodge itself, although I booked most online.

The rooms are large and have a kitchenette in each, with refrigerators, electric grill or microwave, and dishes and cutlery. Again, not fancy but neat and clean. Rooms also have your own electric water pot and instant coffee and tea.
