Hotel Amar, Agra

We stayed in this hotel in Oct 2009, and found it quite alright. I was pleasantly surprised by clean bathroom with a hot shower and good toilet. The rooms were okay too. They have one restaurant where they serve dinner and breakfast. The quality of food was okay, but I thought compared to other Indian eateries somewhat overpriced. There are other options for food, though. A Pizza Hut is within 2 mins walk on the same side of the street. We didn't look hard enough, but I am sure there were other restaurants around that place too. The location of the hotel with respect to Taj Mahal is great. You can get to the Taj parking lot by road in about 15 minutes. In fact you don't even have to drive, and just take a cheap auto-rickshaw ride. The hotel seems popular with foreign tourists since most occupants in the restautants were clearly non-locals. All in all, I will recommend this hotel to those who are budget conscious but still want good basic amenities.

This is the horible place i have ever visited, the most uncooperative staff ever meet. But the owner was good, not atall worth to spend even 35 dollors here.
