Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, Kowloon

The hotel is in a great location and the hotel is really nice. Large comfy bed and a walk in room for your luggage in your room. The pool area is really lovely with nice sun beds with towels waiting for you. We arrived at the hotel at 7am and was able to check in straight away without any problem and they allowed us to extend our check out time to 1pm. All staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay in this hotel if I ever returned to Hong Kong,

Marco Polo Hongkong has very comfortable beds compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Hong Kong. The pool area is under construction now but I suppose that's ok given I've been there in December 06', January 07' and am returning again in March 07'. The hotel is directly connected to a 3 story shopping mall and walking distance to several other shopping and dining options. The hotel is right next to the Star Ferry terminal and only about 6 blocks from the MTR/East KCR station. The hotel is also a stop on the Airport Express so you can take the train from the hotel and take a short Airport Express shuttle bus right right to the hotel. I can be off the plane, through immigration, get my luggage, stop at the airport cash station, load up my octopus card, ride the train then the shuttle and be checking into the hotel in an hour!

A very fast-paced society. You would not have guessed that a fast walker like me failed to catch up a woman with limb problem. You can say leaps cannot catch up with limps....so embarassing in the crowd. This is not meant to be a joke, but an astonishing fact. Kind of a cultural shock to me. I have never imagined that the Hongkies are such fast-paced. Food is about the everything there, well at least for me. Do you know why people there enjoy food so much...because there is no care about the big fat 'Cs' - Calories and Cholesterol...and Cash is easy on the pockets for rounds and rounds of Cheers...haha..i wonder how i got this 4 Cs inspiration! ... hm... must be the food! Their dim-sum is a must try. The 'dai-pai-tong' is another. Too much to say about this little port. Why not just head for it and be guaranteed of another trip there again. Fashion note: What is in vogue there, you can safely expect them to arrive Singapore say 6-9 months down the road. Weather: No winter wear needed for their winter season. Just a jacket shall suffice. I prefer to travel there in winter season as it is easier for the walking and shopping expeditions...Just make good with a good bowl of snake soup in 'Women's Street', if i translate correctly.

Their vanity section incudes an emery board a handy hairdryer, spacious rooms and a a very nice tub =0 All in all I can say this is a very good hotel but not exactly exemplary.

The Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel is of a very convenient location, a shopping mall within the building and walking distance to the MTR station and bus terminal. However, I need to highlight a few things: I stayed in the suite and was puzzled to find out that there is only one bathroom in the suite (and it is located in the bedroom!). This means my friends who visited me have to invade my bedroom privacy whenever they want to use the bathroom. To make matter worse, the bathroom is DIRECTLY facing the side of the bed...which is very unpleasant.

The hotel is located in Kowloon and is relatively new compared to hotels in the hong kong island. The hotel doesn't have its own building, which is shared by businesses and shopping. It's a very unique phenomenon for densely populated cities like Hong Kong and I actually think it's a very nice setting since it's kind of convenient that you can just go downstairs to shop or have dim sum. The room feels new and clean. The hotel staff is relatively nice considering the hong kong people are generally not very hospitable. Also another good thing about the hotel is it's walking distance to the very upscale peninsula hotel. I couldn't afford to staying in peninsula but I can just walk there from my hotel to have their prestigious afternoon high tea. I would give Marco Polo 5 stars.
