Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah, Salalah

i went from dubai to salalah by my car 13 hours, I spend 7 days from 31/07/2009 intel 07/08/2009,so nice weather 28 C,you don't see sun,but your skin becam brown !, and the service of the restuarant beside the beach is poor,dolfine restuarant in night they make nice girll chiken,we enjy me and my wife and my 3 children.

We booked ourselves through the Website of Crowne Plaza and got a very competitive rate, after reaching there we found the Hotel fairly clean and up to our expectations as five star hotel, people at reception desk are very friendly and helpful, our room was on the 1st floor which is their best floor I assume, since you can see the sea and have terrace in front to sit as well. Food was good at their beach restaurant and we really enjoyed the seeshaw there. During day time their beach is better than so many beaches I have seen including Hilton Hotel in Salalah. Over all a good experience to be at a wonderful Hotel like Crowne Plaza Salalah-Oman.

We pent 3 nights at this hotel, which claims to be a 5-star hotel. IT IS NOT. The beds are squeaky. The restaurant is not clean. There were lots of flies around. And believe or not, we saw some roaches in the room. The food was the worst ever. Very limted choices. The service is bad. They don't know how to smile. The laundry service is also bad. Our overall experience was extremely negative. I'll never recommend this hotel to anyone. The Crowne Plaza (a 4-star) in Muscat is much better. We stayed there for one night. Everything was very very good.

The place is worthy of a five star rating, the food is excellent, the nightly buffets are excellent but the service in the restaurants for which you are paying 17% service charge leaves you irate. I found that the waiters and waitresses that are employed in the restuarants to be totaly incompetent and abysmally slow in providing any kind of service that costs 17% of the total amount on the bill. 83 percent satisfied

i spent 2 months relaxing on the white sands that are situated just behind the grounds of the crown plaza watching dolphins and listening to the waves then headed up in to the hotel for the most exquisit lobster and seafood platter, every wednesday theres a buffet theres free internet usage and theres a jewelers on the bottom floor by the doors to the olympic pool where the friendliest of gentlmen is helpful and honest but definatly not pushy or overpowering the rooms are beautiful and were beyond my wildest dreams i used a whole film on my camera just capturing every little detail. theres internet keyboards avaliable from the reception and room service is always quicker than sitting down not for any reason other than the staff are so attentive to your every needs they'll get it to you whenever you want. whilst reading the other reviews i thought that it was ridiculous that people have moaned about the location ( if you can afford to stay there you can afford the 10 real to hire a taxi driver for the day ) or alternativly wait for the hotels minibus which will take you to the town centre and give you a lot of information along the way, i'm a 22 year old man and i could have shed a tear when i left with all thats wrong within the middle east at the moment its a refreshing site to be able to laugh and joke and be around people in such a beautiful country with such awsome views. i don't know whether its the hotel or the country but i will never forget my experiance at this hotel from the day i arrived till the day i left i felt like royalty.
