Taba Hilton - a GREAT BARGAIN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/3/09
The Taba Hilton is located right on the border of Egypt and Israel (and less than 10 miles to Jordan and 25 miles to Saudi Arabia!) Hotel has great grounds, many restaurants (great food--far above typical 4/5 star resort), many acitivies and great staff. Concierge arranged private day trip to Jerusalem for 2/3rds of what it cost on the internet! We also visited Eilat, Israel and Petra in Jordan, both day trips (although you can walk to Eilat!). We drove from Cairo--great drive across the Sinai and then returned a different way and visited St. Catherines Monastery and Mt. Sinai. Lots of camels and we met a number of Bedouins and were charmed! The room rate at the Taba Hilton has to be the best bargain we've ever seen (visited 85 countries)--$42 a night with great breafkfast or $52 for Nelson Village (on beach) with great balcony. Security is exceptional (think El Al airline security) due to the terrorist event there a number of years ago (we were a bit concerned until we got to the hotel--while there we could not have felt safer).
