Rodeway Inn Stratford, Stratford

#1 - it's on the BEACH! #2 - I have only stayed in the beach-front rooms and they were spacious and clean, cable TV and all of that; good shower! #3 - the restaurant / diner downstairs is excellent, with indoor and outdoor seating - looked like it was filled with locals (always a good sign) #4 - if you want something a bit more upscale for dinner, the restaurant near The Rodeway is very good. #5 - there is a roller rink next to it! I will definitely go back - a great get-away, about an hour from NYC. A worthy destination, even for the day - brunch on the beach and a visit to the roller rink. Yeah!

It IS right on the ocean which is it's main asset. Its a decent place for the price. The beach is small and separated from its neighbors, and a little rocky. Their restaurant is indoors, on the beach, so the beach is not very private, but the restaurant has nice views. It was a Saturday night and the bar/restaurant was loud and full, but our room didn't seem loud. The town of Stratford is sketchy at best and there doesn't seem to be anything much to do. Rooms seemed clean enough. Manager wouldn't give me the most updated cheaper rate which was on their website which was a disappointment, and he was a bit rude about it too. I was visiting family about 20 minutes away and hoping to find more of a "get away" type of place, so I probably wouldn't stay here again.

IF THE FOLKS AT MARNICKS GET THIS THOUGHT/ A NICE PLACE TO STAY ON THE LONG ISLAND SOUND, AND THE PEOPLE WHO I MET WERE NICE FOLKS. I AM FROM STRATFORD AND COME BACK TO VISIT NOW AND AGAIN. WHEN I NEED A MOTEL TO STAY AT AGAIN I WILL CHOSE TO RETURN ! I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH THE FAMILY WHO OWNED THIS MOTEL, AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD GOOD RELATIONS WITH BEING IN THE RESTRAUNT, AND THE MOTEL .
