Awesome location and great place
By John, 4/13/12
Hated being the hotel style places of all the other places in town. This place is sitting by the lake and 3 minute walk to an awesome gravel bar. It is not heavily populated. They also have charcoal grills for you to use and you can catch fish out of the lake. You can walk around outside and have a beer because you are not in town as long as your respectful. Also there is a golf course right by it but the greens are really rough. It is not the hilton but it don't cost near as much as the hilton either.

We love ,love,love this lodge
By lisa, 3/9/12
Every year for 10 years now we come to this lodge , the last weekend in June. We have a blast. Our cabin is always clean, and the cleaning girls come every morning to take trash and ask if you need anything. We love to cook on the grill and kick back and play lawn games. This is the best place for family and friends to get away. If you go to town, the cops are out, but if you drive like you should You wont be pulled over.( no drinking and driving) + I wouldn't bring a kid under 14 or any child that cant swim if you plan on a float trip.

Tourist Trap
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/08
Although this was an adequate place to stay, nice in fact and good location, we will never return to this tourist trap. We felt like criminals all week. We were stopped by highway patrol when going to town to eat. We were stopped and searched on the river every day. We are not criminals and were made to feel like we were.

Our annual float trip
By Brenda, 7/16/08
We love staying at the lodge. It is close to the river and is just like home, it has AC, All cooking stuff (coffee pot) and all. color cable TV. We have been going to the current river for many years now and we love staying at the resort. I recomend the lodge on the current to anyone. there is ground floors that someone handicapped could get to.

Great place
By Chris, 2/28/08
Me and a group of friends have been going to Van Buren for the past 8 years now. The housing we had previously stayed at closed, and we've been staying at The Lodge on the Current for the past two trips. The location is great, you're within a 5 minute walk to the river, which is also accessible by vehicle for a 30 second drive. Deer Run tube/raft rental is on the way to the river, just down from the lodging. And a trip to town is but a 5 minute drive, if that. Great location, good rates, although the rooms are a just a bit dated. Sure does beat camping out though. Me and my friends are all young and like to have fun as well. As long as you keep the noise low and be respectful of your neighbors you'll be just fine. No reason you can't be respectful AND have a good time. Staff is great too, hardly even know they're there. They usually come by to change out trash and clean up while we're on the river. All in all a good place to stay.

Will stay somewhere else
We were not real pleased with this place. Too strict on rules. We felt we were at a restricted camp rather than on holiday. The rules were unreasonable directed towards people who were normally courteous. This place does not attract the young at heart.

Too much conflict
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/06
Seems like we were caught in the middle of competition with area camps. We stayed in a cabin but the talk was very negative about other places. don't like controversy...keep your opinions to yourself...we are here to have fun and not worry about competion. actually you have lost our business to one of your competitors in future visits

handy location for floaters.....
By JillB, 6/25/06
handy location for floaters to take out, as deer run has the BEST gravel bar ever. it can get crowded though. the locals hang out there. these cabins are all lined up on 2 sides of the street. they are not "big cedar lodge" style or anything and don't offer any real seclusion. but we go in a big group every year and we inner tube the river all day, some of us take cabins and some camp at deer run campground. our guide cooks us a huge dinner down at the gravel bar at night. the river is a long stroll from the cabins, we drive down there. you can drive on the gravel bar and park there. very laid back. it all just depends on what you are looking for. for us, just a place to sleep and a hot shower! AND THE CURRENT RIVER IS GORGEOUS, AS IS JACK'S FORK RIVER. SO CLEAN AND WONDERFUL!!!!!! GO!!!

Way too noisy to rest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/06
We went for a relaxing peaceful weekend and had to leave early to get any sleep. Signs posted everywhere. This was an awful holiday for my husband and children.
