In 1998, the Avalon Beverly Hills reopened after a renovation and makeover by architect Kining Eizenberg and designer Kelly Weastler. Embracing the retro glamour of the 1950s, the chic update enabled the hotel to offer every modern convenience to its clientele without sacrificing style.Accents like geometric George Nelson bubble lamps, Eames cabinets, Thonet chairs, Noguchi tables, and a figure-eight pool with cabanas for guests make it almost surprising to find dual-line phones, fax machines, modem ports, DVD players, and 27-inch TVs in every room. On the premises are Blue on Blue, the restaurant at the Avalon, a fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool, and a full-service concierge. Overnight valet parking is available for $30. Nightly turndown and 24-hour room service are also available.

I LOVE THIS HOTEL!!!

I don't usually write reviews about a hotel…but here I go. Oh my god, the “Avalon Beverly Hills”, what a wonderful hotel! I was so pleasantly surprised to find such an affordable hotel in Beverly Hills. After a long day of work/travel, there was nothing better than to come across this gem of a hotel. The first thing I was happy about was the customer service: from the valet, to the clerk at check-in, to the bellman, restaurant staff, and the maid service…all were nothing but top notch and very customer service oriented. I had a wonderful night sleep on one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in at a hotel. From the comforter, to the comfortable firm mattress, to the oversize pillows…I just sunk away into a heavenly slumber. The very clean and modern room did not disappoint at all. I especially enjoyed, the HDTV, bathrobes, the mini fridge, the spacious interior, oversize soap/shampoo bottles, and even the oh so relaxing shower. It was all just a so unbelievably well put together, comfortable, and inviting room. Even the food in the restaurant was amazing…I could go on and on! I recommend this hotel highly and will definitely stay here again. The only downside to my time at the “Avalon Beverly Hills” was that I was unable to stay longer due to having to meet my family for Thanksgiving.

What A Let Down!

After checking out thee Avalon's very retro website, I went ahead and booked my Grandmother and I our rooms. We were looking forward to a lovely girls weekend and it was such a let down. My room was the size of a shoe-box. Every time I flush the toilet: The sink would leak!! Thus, a flooded bathroom; I could have been electrocuted!! As stated below, I too found this a very noisy hotel. Maid service never knocked, I was in the shower: They didn't care, they just came right in! Room service, was great, but astronomical... Completely and totally over-priced. I will never go back again!

it look good at first sight, but evertything in the room is so cheap and poor. the price is non-considerable. never want to go back.

Noisy restaurant is trendy-but is just murder on the hotel guests

It's a great looking place, but the restaurant guests stream in and completely wreck the ambience. The hotel is peaceful and lovely by day-noisy and raucous by night. The staff has no control over the parties that occur above and below you. They are so enamoured by being trendy that they forget that people actually need to sleep at night. Terrible for business travelers, who will be battling techno-rave party noise and the hangers ons that scream by the poolside at 1am.
