Hotel Le Bergerac, San Jose

The only bad was that it was stuck in a neighborhood off of the beaten path but besides that this is a great place to be taken care of by some of the best hotel staff I have ever seen. We would go back in a heart beat. If they had a pool it might had been perfect.

We used Hotel Le Bergerac as our home base during our travels around Costa Rica. They will happily store luggage for you, if needed. My family and I stayed in room 9, it offers 2 queen beds, a walk-in closet, a private safe, cable TV, telephone, a huge spotless bathroom w/double sinks, a lovely private garden patio overlooking the nearby mountains, ceiling fans, double patio doors, wood floor and an excellent staff always willing to help. The French restaurant downstairs is a little stuffy (long pants required) but the food is pretty good, and they offer room service if desired. I can�t say enough nice things about this hotel. They were always helpful, courteous and friendly.

On our second visit we were excited to return to this lovely hotel. We were greeted like old friends by the most helpful and friendly staff we have ever known. They actually seem to enjoy giving immaculate service to all their guests. The superior room on our first visit was delightful. This time the Deluxe room was was a joy.
