Comfort Inn Presque Isle, Erie

The only pro to this hotel was the closeness to all of the things we wanted to do. The cons far outweighed the PRO. The pool was absolutely disgusting. Floating debris, bugs galore, gobs of hair. I am a pool owner...this was disgusting...I wouldn't let my daughter go in it. The beds were old and bouncy, the air conditioning unit sounded like it had a cricket in it. We had to start and stop it to stop the insane noise. There was a HUGE stain on the carpet that was sticky and gross. God knows what the heck it was. Stains throughout the entire hotel carpet. Breakfast was crowded and people staying there were ignorant. To boot, I was charged another day on my credit card!

My daughter and I have been coming to Erie for the last 4 years. We just made our reservation again at the Comfort Inn for this summer. We stay there for many reasons. The location is perfect for what we like to do. It is very close to the beaches, Tom Ridge Environmental Center, dining, shopping, and, of course, Waldameer Park! Downtown Erie, Presque Isle Downs and the Millcreek Mall are only a short drive away. The hotel rooms are clean, the staff is excellent and the full breakfast is a great plus. The beds are very comfortable and we have never had a bad experience. The pool is nice, but we never seem to have any time to enjoy it. Our Erie trip is our yearly mother-daughter trip and we look forward to it every year!

We found this motel to get away from the stays out by the malls. If your main interest is the airport or going to the beach or Waldemere, this is the place to stay. It is right there.

the location was convenient, the room looked clean...but smelled like smoke..even though it was smoke free room. The bathroom didn't smell clean. The continental breakfast was very basic: muffins, toast, tea, coffee, juice, cereal and had to make your own waffles. The walls are thin as paper, didn't sleep well at all. Not a good value for the money. Very disappointed.

I stayed at both this Comfort Inn and the one on Peach Street during a recent trip to Erie on business. There is no comparision. The Comfort Inn on W. 12th Street in Erie is about as nice as an Econolodge, a no-frills hotel chain. The walls of the rooms are paper-thin, so you can readily hear your neighbors talking at a normal level (God forbid they might be engaging in noisier activities). The cable channel selections are very basic. There is no in-room microwave or refrigerator. The parking near the front entrance is limited so you often have to park out back. Good luck trying to get a Wi-Fi connection to access the Internet. The breakfast staff consists of two older women, one of which must be over 70 and they both feel obliged to have breakfast and read the paper in the breakfast lounge, which has limited seating. No cranberry juice for three days straight. No hot chocolate after 10 AM as advertised. The apple I ate was old and dry and they appear to recycle the leftover eggs from day to day. Then there were the drunks that phoned me at 4 AM because they didn't know what room their buddy was in, but that's not the Comfort Inn's fault, or is it, because that is the type of clientele they attract on the weekends? West 12th Street isn't exactly an upscale neighborhood, just look at the shack across the road from the Comfort Inn that someone deems to call a motel. On a positive note, they do have hot eggs and ham as a breakfast choice, not just waffles, fruit, and cereal.

This hotel is a little old, but is still nice. The price is right, room was clean, and great service from the front desk. This hotel is very close to Presque Isle. Overall, a good experience.

June 1-3, 2007 My wife and I stayed in this facility and had a very nice stay. The room was just fin, clean and with great beds and pillows. The breakfast was good and fresh. The price is very fair. We shall stay there on our next visit (daughter-in-law parents and family). Tom & Suzanne

I had to stay there b/c of an emergency and they gave me a good rate b/c of it. They have very friendly and helpful staff, great hot breakfast in the morning, nice and clean room with large bathroom, and FREE wireless in the rooms - it was a very pleasant stay for a very unpleasant reason.

we liked everything. and thought it was a great place. when we travel we usually stay at holiday inns, but this place was nice and simple with eveything and at a great place. thankyou, mike

Did not have a resevation. Was driving buy and new we needed a room so we stopped. The price was right, we felt safe, close by to food and Presque Isle.
