Days Inn Champaign, Champaign

My husband and I planned for a couple of weeks to stay here and wanted to use a coupon we had found, good for a 1 queen bed room for a lower price. When we arrived at the hotel, it was storming. We went inside and told the desk clerk that we needed a room for two nights and that we wanted to use the coupon. The coupon stated no restrictions. The clerk told us that he had no available rooms and that every hotel in town was full because "something" was going on in town, but he didn't know what. He than told us all he had was a room with 2 queen beds and that it would be a much higher rate. The coupon we had also stated that we could get a 2 queen bed room for alittle more. When I told the clerk this, he told me that he couldn't accept the coupon, and that we would have to pay the higher price. He never even looked at the coupon to see what it said. Turned out that there was nothing going on in town and we had no problems finding another hotel to stay at.

The desk clerks are not very friendly. The hall ways are stuffy and smell of cigarette smoke. The doors were all propped open. I was told that is how they clean. The last thing they do is prop open all the doors then go room to room vacuuming. The desk clerk said check in is 2:00 and they were running a little behind. We arrived around 2:30. The Days Inn web site says check in is 12:00. The light above the sink did not work and the toilet wobbled. On the up side the room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the TV worked. It took a little time to figure out how to turn on the shower. You have to pull down the ring at the end of the tub spout. I have never seen one like this before.

where do i start.... DON"T STAY HERE... room had mold in bathroom...also had a hole in the bathroom wall... clerk was more interested in watching " American Idol"... heater was very tempermental.... but on a plus side the room did have three ashtrays. only stay here if you like sleeping on springs.
