Silver Cloud Inn, Portland

The Silver Cloud was a total pleasure to stay in. The room was large and comfortable, with a great view of Knob Hill. It was well outfitted witrh Aveda soap and lotion ect.. The beds were large, clean and comfortable.The large LCD television was fantastic, and there was a small refridgerator for snacks. The free breakfast downstairs had a good variety, and was fresh and tasty. The free internet came in handy on the complimentary computer in the lobby for planning our day. The staff was extremely friendly and knoladgeable about the area.They were eager to answer questions, and even allowed us back into the room after we a accidentally checked out too early to catch a bus to the coast. I would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Portland!! We are going back in a year to visit..and this is where we will stay.

The hotel is wonderful- just off the beaten path but still close to everything- and the rooms are clean, well cared for and (important to me as a business traveler) quiet. The television is HUGE and the beds are really comfortable. My only problem is the exercise room, which is small and contains just one treadmill, bike, and stair stepper (no elliptical???) and is literally the size of one guest room. If you really want repeat business I would improve that space and take over one more room and make it a functional and comfortable space for working out.
