Grand Hotel Amstelveen, Amstelveen

We booked this Hotel based on the fact it was a 4 star, and very central, with easy access to public transport. The reality is that is not a 4 star maybe more like a 2.5, the room was large but VERY tired looking, and also after requesting a king bed we were given 2 twin beds pushed together, and told there are no king beds, unlike in the pictures shown. Also the room was incredibly hot, and the air co was not working, the internet is also not free and also did not work. The free internet is on THEIR lobby computer. There is no public transportation to and from the Hotel which made life very difficult. After really trying to like this place a few hours later we ended up moving to the Marriot in Hoofdorp for the same cost and a room that was amazing, free internet and a working air co and had busses and transport vans etc. Overall this place is not very conducive for business trips !

Likes Excellent service,always cater well for small children, decent rooms, superb bathroom ,excellent breakfast, nice quiet location next to some woods. Dislikes Location a little isolated, but has good route to Schipol
