Best Motel Ever!
I love staying at the Beachway! It is the best motel ever! The staff is fun and friendly, and there is always something to do nearby - or you can enjoy the lovely grounds. There are firetables for the summer and picnic tables too. I tell all my friends to stay there. There is almost always someone out on the grounds or about the place, if you like hanging around on the porch getting to know people, and you quickly feel right at home. There is usually a little refrigerator, and microwaves can be ordered, but why cook there? Just eat snacks - and get out to enjoy the great scenery and shopping and museums and special attractions, including more than one nearby movie theater with full concession stands, fabulous pizza shops and Chinese food, and tons of budget shopping venues are all in the area for not just full of food but just about anything you might imagine. If you are in shape, Salisbury Beach is within walking distance, and there are at least three places to eat on the way there, including Marie's, just across the street, which has a super nice breakfast with all the fixins. I often spin into Amesbury myself to grab a hard boiled egg or a packaged sandwich at the Cumbies for my breakfast. Alliance Park is near there for Revolutionary War buffs, as is the fantastic Bartlett Museum and the Captain's Well. The Maritime Museum is in Newburyport, and it can be reached on the city bus that stops right on the constant festivities called State Street. Exactly, I must confess that hardly a stay at the Beachway passes when I am not sending someone to the Newburyport Richdale's for a 25 cent hot dog and a view of the water there. The Beachway is a must! It is just the greatest stay ever! Fill up your gas station and get there quick. In fact, buy a few gas cards when you first get here. There is lots to see, and you will want to head out often to see what is here in the lovely Valley.
