Not pleased with my stay here at all.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/6/07
This is an overall decent place for the area. My girlfriend and I were very disappointed with our room. It was one of their Premium rooms. They just handed me the keys without even offering to show me to the room or help with luggage. We were never introduced to the Inn keepers, they didn't even introduce there selves at breakfast just plain rude. It was down the maids stairs in the basement of the house(very premium). You have to walk down into this poorly lit hallway and pass the laundry room. It just felt really awkward like we shouldn't even be in that part of the house. No where on the web site do they mention this, it appears as a ground level room. Allready running a little late for our dinner reservations we just went out for the night. Then we get back to attempt to enjoy this $250 dollar room. There was a jacuzzi garden tub in the bathroom. When I went to turn on the hot water the handle fell right off into my hand! Then I try to close the drain and this also came off. The towel ring also came off of the wall when I went to dry my hands. The room also had no circulation and was extremely damp, it smelled like an unfinished basement. After returning home early from the rest of out Holiday in PA due to health reasons I to my time to write the Inn about these concerns that I did not have time to confront upon checking out. Such as the cost V.S quality. They just replied with a generic "thanks for you time" letter no form of resolution. To say the least I was shocked that a B&B which strive on customer service would just blow off a concerned patron in such impersonal way. Leaving you with fair warning about the lack of customer service at the Lafayette Inn. P.S Breakfast there is also quite limited and not very creative. Also you eat in a really small sun porch with enough seating for 1/2 of there guests you may end up standing there waiting to eat.

Outstanding Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/6/07
We stayed at the Lafayette in to attend a function at the college. I couldn't imagine anyone choosing a chain hotel over this beautiful old residence. It was tastefully restored, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Great, old floors, a grand staircase and traditional fireplaces added lots of charm. I wanted to move in and simply stay there. The restaurants near the college left a little to be desired, though. Perhaps the inn could consider a full dining room, and not simply breakfast?

Nice inn, great breakfast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/05
My family (including 2 elementary school-age children) and I recently stayed at the Lafayette Inn, and were very pleased with the friendly staff, good-sized room, and convenient location. The breakfast was wonderful, including omelettes and waffles, (made just for you), and all kinds of cereals, fruit, and baked goods. That in itself was worth the extra cost of staying there vs. a chain hotel!

Not quite up to par.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/29/05
My room was on the third floor and there was no elevator. I had suitcases to haul up the stairs. The room was small; a small shower stall, and the showerhead fell off. The bed was not comfortable; there was a dampness and the room felt humid. The breakfasts were wonderful. Perhaps the high price comes from that. This was the only place close to Lafayette University that had rooms. Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn were booked out.
