Great value!
By Mary K, 10/19/08
Stayed at this family-run property for a weekend wedding/Busch Gardens getaway. It is an old ‘motor court’ motel, spotlessly clean with all the basics needed in a hotel room, including complimentary soap and shampoo, coffeemaker, and hair dryer. Our generously sized non-smoking king room also had a generous closet (yes, a closet! With doors!), iron and full ironing board, a table with two chairs, small loveseat, mini-fridge and microwave, and a heating/cooling unit that kept the room toasty on a cold-ish October night. Furniture and décor was somewhat dated or just plain utilitarian, but all well working – and the bathroom had been newly tiled and painted. Free wireless internet access is not the speediest but does the job – note that if you are not accustomed to seeking and accessing wireless networks independently, you may need to contact the front desk. Caveats: Those who need firmer pillows may wish to bring their own; those needing very firm beds will be disappointed; and light sleepers may be disturbed by the occasional train noise over the heating unit – tho the tracks are across a five-lane road and behind property on the other side. Pets are NOT allowed. Clearly, this is not a ‘high-end’ property – but it is an excellent value with a good location near Busch Gardens – we recommend it most highly and plan to stay here again.

Would definitely stay again!
By TaraC, 9/21/08
To look at the outside of building (old) you wouldn't think that the rooms would be that good, but our room was excellent. Very clean!! I loved that the vanity was outside of the bathroom, so you didn't have to wait for the other person to finish their shower before you could use the sink and/or mirror. The room also had a fridge and microwave, which was great. We will definitely stay here again!!

Hope to see you next year
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/08
We just returned from a three night stay. This place is a great value with a great location. Our room was clean and spacious. The minifridge, microwave and internet access exceeded our expectations. The shelves in the minifridge don't allow you to accomodate, say a gallon jug of milk, but we were able to still stock a lot of beverages and some snacks to keep us set for the entire stay. The continental breakfast consisted of coffee, o.j., bananas and glazed donuts. We actually took the 6 mi. drive up 199W to the Wal-Mart supercenter to stock on other breakfast items and used the continental for those of us that wanted a donut and some juice. The in-room coffee maker is small and pouring from it was a little like using a dribble glass. Of course that might have just being too dense (or not yet awake enough) to do it right. I don't know. The pool is a decent size, open 10:00am - 10:00pm. Because of our time at Busch Gardens, we didn't do a lot of swimming, but it was clean and the water felt great the night we did get in. We are hoping to make a Busch Gardens/Water Country USA/Colonial Williamsburg trip next year and that goes down, we will definitely look for a vacancy here.

We will definitely stay here again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/30/07
We have been coming to Williamsburg for the past 3 summers and this was the first time we stayed here -- we were very pleased. We had the 2 bedroom suite. It was very spacious, clean and I liked have 2 separate bedrooms, especially with teenage boys. The price was very affordable, the pool was clean and the location to Busch Gardens excellent. The 2-bedroom suite had a full fridge, coffee pot, sink and cabinets and a microwave --this was a great stay!!!!

wonderful compromise!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/07
If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a hotel room, but want to be near Busch Gardens this is the place for you! It is an older "mom and pop" type place, but was very clean and roomy. We booked the 2 bedroom suite for 4 adults and 2 children. The bathroom was very clean and the pool was a nice respite after a hot day spent at the amusement park. Bring your own pillows and something extra fluffy to lay down if you plan on using the sofa sleeper. If you don't expect a 5 star rating and perfection you will quite pleasantly surprised with the Rodeway. It even had wireless internet!

We like it!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/14/06
We like the hotel because it was roomy, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. This hotel was in a great location if you are going to Colonial Williamsburg or Busch Gardens. We have use this hotel many times and we will be using it again. It may not be a 4 star hotel to many, but if you want a comfortable, clean room, then check into this hotel.

Excellent Service and Location
By Nick, 4/6/06
We have been vising Williamsburg, VA for past 6 years now. We came to know about this place by word of mouth. During all 6 visits we have stayed here and I must tell you that our experience has been outstanding. What is so special about this place is that their Suites are EXCELLENT. They are designed like an apartment and have 2 seperate bedrooms. Perfect for families. Excellent Service and Location. I would recommend it to anyone. Five Starts *****

Excellent Stay!!!
By Beth, 9/16/04
My husband and I decided to stay here versus the more expensive places in Williamsburg. We had a great time! The rooms were comfy, and cozy. Very clean! There was a microwave, and a mini-fridge. We had a great stay!!! Would highly recommend, and would definitely stay again!!!

Spacious rooms with kitchen amenities
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/16/04
We rented a 2-bedroom suite mid-July, 2004 for 2 nights. We knew that this hotel was not up to the standard that we are accustomed to, but we chose it for its spaciousness, kitchen amenities, availability, price, and closeness to Busch Gardens. We would consider staying at this hotel again unless we win the lottery.

PLUSES: Friendly mom & pop staff, renovated and clean bathroom, decent towels, decent bedrooms and beds. Kitchen has full-size refrigerator (but no light), microwave (worn but clean), a sink, and dinette table for 4. No ice trays in freezer, but ice machine outside. Blocks from grocery/drug stores and a few restaurant chains.

NEGATIVES: Located away from hotel strip in a less attractive side of town near train tracks. No chain locks on doors, but there is a peep hole. LR is dark and drab, but functional. Sofa bed is all springs (consider taking your inflatable bed). Steep stairs to underground bedrooms and bath. Master BR has no A/C. 2nd BR has no TV, drawer space, nor closet, and the window A/C made taping noises. Bed pillows were not comfortable (too hard and too thick to fold).
