Spacious rooms with kitchen amenities

We rented a 2-bedroom suite mid-July, 2004 for 2 nights. We knew that this hotel was not up to the standard that we are accustomed to, but we chose it for its spaciousness, kitchen amenities, availability, price, and closeness to Busch Gardens. We would consider staying at this hotel again unless we win the lottery.
PLUSES: Friendly mom & pop staff, renovated and clean bathroom, decent towels, decent bedrooms and beds. Kitchen has full-size refrigerator (but no light), microwave (worn but clean), a sink, and dinette table for 4. No ice trays in freezer, but ice machine outside. Blocks from grocery/drug stores and a few restaurant chains.
NEGATIVES: Located away from hotel strip in a less attractive side of town near train tracks. No chain locks on doors, but there is a peep hole. LR is dark and drab, but functional. Sofa bed is all springs (consider taking your inflatable bed). Steep stairs to underground bedrooms and bath. Master BR has no A/C. 2nd BR has no TV, drawer space, nor closet, and the window A/C made taping noises. Bed pillows were not comfortable (too hard and too thick to fold).
