Sundowner Motel, Sequim

Nasty Girl! You will be wise to avoid this motel. Rude staff turned us away even though the parking lot was empty. We had a coupon from a local publication. It was not expired and we were told it was a misprint and she would not honor the coupon. We pulled off the highway especially to stay there so to be turned away without a reason was a drag. The savings was not that big so we were willing to pay the full amount, but before we could express that we wanted to stay here anyway she told us that we were not welcome to stay here and asked us to leave. The conversation never escalated it was very civil but we never found out what the "misprint" was or why she was not willing to let to us for the night.

THIS WAS THE MOST DIRTIEST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED...Walked into my room, smelled like meldew, no soap, no coffee maker, room not vacum. Left and open windows went to dinner gone 4 hrs, could not get the smell out. Towels were frayed, thin, and was afraid to use. Paid for two days only stay 1, left went to a different hotel, Much better cleaner...Would not recommand this place at all. If this is all remolded I would hate to see this before the remodled..

It was a pleasant surprise...! Our stay was not just wonderful, but was restful, and homelike feeling. Clean, neat, spacious, newlike carpet, close to best places of peninsula, downtown-sequim and restaurants. SAFE, and enjoyable place for me and my family, kids for 5 days we lived here. The gentleman and lady managers were very friendly, helpful and understanding. They made us very comfortable and made our stay worth it. They've free internet wifi, easy check-in checkout, ... -I highly recommend this place to live -I have lived in other places in the cities around here, after living here, now i am sold for this place. -sometimes they are full, but they will still work with you to find you a nice place. Call them before you get there, tell them your requirements, they have a great attitude. Pay them a visit, its a family friendly place.

Overall: Great stay with very nice management. The rooms were far from a Hilton, but very good for the price paid. It was the best price we found in the town and had very satisfactory rooms. My family and I were taking a vacation through the Olympic peninsula and were going to stay the night in Sequim. I have a wireless internet card for the laptop, and since we had plenty of time to kill on the drive there, I decided to look up attractions and places to stay. I looked up reviews on the various motels in Sequim and saw what seemed like bad reviews for the Sundowner. When we got to Sequim, we stopped at each motel as we drove through the town. Sundowner was by far the BEST PRICE we found in town, so we returned and asked to look at the rooms. From the outside it looks fairly nice. We were actually surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. It was well worth the price: clean sheets, enough towels (we needed a few extra the next day and they promptly brought them to our room), working AC/Heater, suitable TV, clean sink/bathroom, and free Wi-Fi. In addition, the manager was very nice and friendly. I was actually surprised overall by this motel. It was very well worth the price we paid and made us want to come back to Sequim.

The rooms look nothing like the pictures on the internet. We walked into the room, into a swarm of fruit flies/gnats. A 13 incht tv, and a huge water heater in the corner of the living area. The heater had been leaking, and covered in rust. An overwhelming odor of mildew/mold and marijuana. Told the mgmt this is in no way satisfactory. She, the "owner" would not give us a refund, told us the room was used after spending 5 minutes in it. We didnt even get the door shut before we said "no way". I told her that we would not be spending the night there but I needed a reciept. You dont stay then you dont get a reciept. Asked her to check the room to see that we left it in the same shape we found it in and for her to write something that stated that the room was in good shape. She said again, "no". I asked for the key back and we would come back in the morning and check out after going to a more reputable establishment, and was told "no" again. I told her that I paid for the room and I wanted the key and she then said that she knew that we werent going to sleep in the room so why do I need the key. Sorry for the rant. This almost makes me never want to go to the town of Sequim again. Geno

This motel was quite awful. But first, the good things: *Free WiFi The bad things: *Horrific stench of cat urine *The room was not thoroughly vacuumed *Very, very overpriced with no breakfast *No Chain on the door *The Bathroom was disgusting and tiny. Water puddled up on the bathroom floor. This place looks OK from the outside, but is disgusting, filthy and overpriced. The caretakers were friendly enough. Please, stay at a nice place, not here, no matter how desperate you are.

The owner was helpful and willing to go beyond the necessary. I would return and refer my family members. Nice part of the country to see from a nice base! Last visit in July 2007

Have stayed here in the past, apparently new owners. Room was not as requested on the phone. Beds were so terrible that we could not sleep. No ventilation! Could not leave the window open at night, and no A/C or visible fan in the bedroom or bath. Ran out of hot water, beer bottle caps on floor. Shortage of towels, soap. Motel in poor repair. Would not recommend to anyone.

Service was the best I've seen in a long time. One building has older rooms, but there is another building which was built later and has very nice rooms. We stayed in one of the newer rooms, which was comparable to a chain-motel's room. The free wi-fi was also a big plus in addition to the standard cable.

We found the rooms very clean, new carpet, oak furniture, remote TV, refrigator, Microwave, LED alarm clock and phone. Parking right outside our door and a nice concrete parking lot kept clean. Our customer service was some of the best I have experanced any where, fresh hot coffee and a new copy of the Seattle Times started my day there. Hope to return soon!
