Great location... Bad accomodations.
By Mikel, 03/14/09
I'm actually staying here right now. JUST found out that all of the pilows in the room are down. I'm pretty allergic to the stuff, don't ask me why. Wifey went down to the desk while I put our boy to sleep, and they said "Yeah, we had a customer complain about that before..." Really? And you opted to do nothing? What's a cheap foam pillow cost? $10-20? They handed my wife a wad of sheets I could lay my weary head on. How pleasant. I don't think it'll make a difference as we realized the comforters are down, too. Great... On the up side, this place is remarkably close to Seattle Center, and that's why we stayed here.

Wonderful Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/08
This was a stay which we enjoyed from the start. The room was clean and well maintained. Service was excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant. Located next to a bus stop so it is easy to access downtown and the waterfront and many more attractions. Front desk and cleaning personnel were efficient and answered the many questions we had for our stay. Inexpensive compared to the top price hotels and motels in the city. We were very happy with our decision to stay there.

Cheap, convenient, and clean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/06
Just remodeled, all new beds, carpet, etc. In room coffee and blow dryer nice touch for the money. Very convenient to Greenlake- great for rowing events! Basic motel trying to do it right.

Horror Strory
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/06
Ok, after reading the guidelines I will keep this short. The motel was long on promises, short on delivery or even common courtesy. I was disappointed in that when the sink stopper broke, the front desk said they would repair it. In a 6 day stay they did not. After I called a second time, they promised a rubber stopper. They did not produce one and they never bothered to tell me they didn't have one. I learned that on the third call; they didn't volunteer it. Motel was very slightly seedy; the neighborhood was very seedy. Lots of panhandlers, frequent appearances of cops. Street signs saying, "Prostitution and panhandling area. YOUR LICENSE NUMBER IS BEING RECORDED." My wife didn't feel safe walking alone in the area and she likes to walk. The last evening of our stay, we come back to the motel to find that our door had been left WIDE OPEN!! Not by us; the maid service had been done. And this IN A NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE THE COPS ROUSTED SOMEONE AT LEAST ONCE A NIGHT THAT WE SAW!!!! Our room door was WIDE OPEN, ALL THE WAY OPEN, all day. I had $2000-$3000 worth of medicical equipment that could have been stolen, not to mention all the other stuff that is in 3 suitcases. The negligence couldn't have been put down to an angry maid because I am a very generous tipper and never missed a day.....well, I didn't tip the morning we left. I think the only reason nothing was stolen, either by another guest or one of the panhandlers was that we had a corner room in a recessed alcove, and our property was out of view. Just by chance. I would never feel safe in this place.

Extremely poor customer service and unclean.
By Linda, 08/02/05
On June 11, 2005, I visited the Emerald Inn to view one of your rooms, room 216, for quality based on an anticipated stay. At that time, I spoke with Debbie, the property Manager, who informed me that the facilities were well maintained and that I would be able to stay in room 216. I signed an agreement which indicated that I would be staying in that room from June 11th to June 18th. The room had a significant amount of cupboard space to accommodate my belongings. When I actually entered the room at approximately 11pm on June 11th, and brought in all my belongings, I found that the refrigerator had not been cleaned and there was rotten food in it. Upon opening the refrigerator, a foul smell permeated the entire room. Immediately I went to the manager’s office and informed them of the situation. They suggested that I move all of my belongings to room 215 and that they would have the housekeeper clean my original room first thing in the morning. I agreed, however room 215 did not have any cupboard space and the refrigerator and wall were dirty. That night I did not unpack any of my belongings due to the anticipated move in the morning. Instead, I left my belongings in the suitcases to avoid repacking in the morning. At approximately 10 am I observed that the door of room 216 was open, however it had not been cleaned. I went to the manager’s office to inquire as to why, considering the housekeeper was on the premises and cleaning other rooms at that time. Martin, the property Manager, informed me that she would be cleaning rooms all day and that she would get to room 216. I reminded him that his wife, Debbie, had ensured me that my room would be cleaned first thing in the morning due to the insufficient cleaning. I also informed him that I had to leave to work and would not be back until late in the evening. He suggested that I move my belongings into room 216 which still had a foul odor. I declined because I did not want the smell to get in my belongings. Alternately, he suggested I move my belongings when I return at about midnight after work. I told him that this was not an acceptable solution and that I simply wanted to check out for the following reasons: 1) They were not able to honor our original agreement for room 216 based on an error on their staff’s behalf 2) As a result of that error, I was forced to move my belongings to a room that was not comparable 3) I did not want to unpack and repack, therefore did not unpack my belongings that night and could not enjoy the space as I had anticipated 4) I viewed room 216 in advance of signing an agreement to ensure it met my expectation 5) Room 215 had a dirty refrigerator and wall which made me question the cleanliness of the facility 6) They had not honored their promise to have room 216 cleaned first thing in the morning 7) Martin was unprofessional and defensive when I was attempting to find a solution to the problem
