Royal Inn, South San Francisco

We stayed here a while back and liked it. It fairly quiet and nice. I will stay there in the near future if I have to.

I haven't stayed at this hotel but I received terrible customer service from them. I am a career counselor at a community college near San Francisco. I have been calling different hotels for my students to do informational interviews. Each hotel I have called has been very friendly about doing these for my students. I called Royall Inn and asked if I could speak to the manager. The man answering the phone screamed at me, "why do you want to speak to a manager!? If you want a room then we have no room, who are you!? I was taken aback and didn't answer right away and he answered, see you have no answer for me and slammed the phone down.

I have stayed at this place a few times and it was not to bad. Now they have renovated the motel and it looks very nice. New furniture in some rooms, also new sheets and carpets. very satisfied for the price and quality.

My husband & I have been there several times & never had a problem until resently. We've always requested the same room, but it was occupied at the time, so we settled for any room. It was completely disgusting!! There were spots of blood on the ceiling, there were bugs that had been crushed & left above the bathroom door, & to top it all off, the sheets were spotted with what appeared to be urine. If this one time expierence had never happened, I'd have told you the place was quiet & enjoyable, but it did & I'm kind of grateful. One thing I've learned about privately owned buisnesses is that, if one room is that bad, then the others are probably just as bad. They may make it seem like one room is clean, but appearence can be very decieving. There shouldn't be any short-cuts when you're steralizing a room that is used by the public. It's the things you can't see, that are the most harmful to your health anyway. I urge you to look closely at any hotel you go to, even if they have a good reputation. We personally, have never gone back!!
