Front desk woman had an attitude problem... other than that it was a good trip

I have stayed at the PG for several years. This year the pool area had been renovated . It was very nice and was cleaned each morning. There was also a staff member picking up around the grounds and making sure the pool was cleaned. The outdoor hot tub was out of service. The rooms were clean enough and the staff was very nice. I did not like the fact that dogs were allowed this year. We could hear barking , but only in the hallways. I have to respect the dog owners and I am sure it is difficult to leave pets at home. I travel for work and stay in very nice hotels. If I look enough , I can usually find something to gripe about. The cost is $250.-$350. per night. So for an oceanfront beach hotel..I think we get what we pay for. You other people need to spend more $$ , maybe you would be happier. PS. We stayed at a pricey hotel one year at MB and guess what HUGE bugs in shower. I have NEVER seen that at PG.

The photos you see of this hotel online are nothing like the real thing. The place is not a resort by any means. All the windows are filthy, the pools are a disgrace, the "restaurant/lounge" is a sad excuse for a diner, the rooms were covered in burn holes and were dark and not very nice in our opinion. The room we stayed in did not smell too bad, but the hallways sure did! The only good things about this hotel are 1) check-in/check-out was very easy (you can check-in before the 4 p.m. stated on your itinerary), 2) Very easy access to the beach. Do not be fooled by the beautiful scenery of the back of the hotel as shown in the photos though - it is nothing like that. You must walk through a dirty pool area to get to the beach access. We went to lay on the beach and the hotel next door was blasting karaoke music. We would never stay in this hotel again, and from now on I will be much more careful when choosing a "resort" in Myrtle Beach. The Anderson Ocean Club next door did look very nice.

Any positive review must be from an employee of the hotel or someone who does not mind a fleabag hotel. Likes: Close to ocean and good views. Staff friendly, esp. the valet. Has kitchenette in some rooms, but ours was old and dirty. Nice outdoor pool. Dislikes: Type of hotel where you itch when you get under the covers, just not new and definitely NOT cleaned. Elevator, read others reviews, indoor pool slimey, staff does not replace tolietries inc. TP. Rug dirty and old, chips on wall, poor decor, no pictures on lime green walls in room. do not know where they got that picture of the lobby, rooms dirty, old, bed poor, blankets old and dirty, furniture old and dirty, tv remote does not work to 27" 1990's style tv. no liner in shower, gave 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 2 small bars of the cheap stuff for saop and one roll of tp for the 4 days we were there. has stove refig and microwave, housekeeping does not do the dishes, you have to do your own, needless to say they were dirty, clock does not work. plastic balcony chairs, IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS HOTEL HAS BEEN ABUSED AND IS IN NEED OF A REDO AND THAT IT HAS A SR. MGNT STAFF WHO HAS EVAULATED EVERY COST AND EXPENSE AND REMOVED EVERY PERK AND AMMENETITY FROM THE PLACE, THEY ARE SQUEEZING A DRY LEMON HERE TRYING TO GET OUT EVERY LAST DROP. Just sell the place to a real GUEST CENTERED HOTEL CHAIN so the great views and location can be taken advantage of. This is the place for a large blue collar family that is here for a week that has low cash, that enjoys staying in a hotel room on Saturdays watching cartoons or going to the beach or using the outdoor pool. This is aslo a great place for college kids who want to stuff 5-6 people in a room, though the rooms can be small, and then have a keg party, in fact that is what the place seems to be. If you have had good hotel experiences and stayed at some 2.5, 3, 4 5 satr places then you will know what I am staying here, this is the quality of a low budget, 2 star hotel, that does not do a good job with hiusekeeping. OH YES, the sheets come off the mattress as there are no cover pads and they are not filtted correctly, the two lights in the room also did not work there was trash from the previous guests behind the chair, the layout was poor. There is no screen for the deck so the door is wide open or closed, there is no sheer for the deck sliders so the window curtians are wide open or closed, and yes you can see into other rooms from many of the rooms. I have stayed in over 1000 hotels in my life as a business traveler and vacationer and this has to be one of the lowest quality attractions. If you paint a pig it is still a pig, But this one has not even been painted.

The staff was amazing and the room was nice and clean. The hotel was great value for ocean front king suite. We would go back again :) It wasnt a 4 star hotel, but was nice. The elevators on the North end are much better than the ones by the pool. We stayed in 708 and really enjoyed ourselves.

the employees were great, friendly,helpful. the room was clean and nice. the only thing i could complain about is the elevators, they do need some work. i even left my bathingsuit there and they were kind enough to see that i got it back. i loved the beach---it was great anytime of day of night. i hope you can have a great stay there too.

Could tell the rooms were older but fixed up. Couch, chair & bed were comfortable. Disappointed in kitchen. Enjoyed the pools, ocean. Parking was OK but had tight corners on half floors and was across the street. Overall was good experience but will try a different hotel next time.

We stayed at the PG for 5 days. Not only did we receive maid service EVERYDAY, we had NO issues with anything. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, pools were clean, everything inside and outside our room worked, the pool side snack bar was up and running, and elevators are serviceable (not super fast, but anyone with any sort of patience will be fine). It is true that the restaurant is under renovations, however that is the hotel's only real flaw. The pizza flyers you receive under your door is somewhat annoying, but again anyone with patience can get past that. Is it a 5 star resort? ... no, but for a family vacation it's great. The other people who wrote reviews were apparently expecting The Plaza Hotel and super luxurious accommodations . . . too much complaining if you ask me.

Checked in; came up to room. Wasn't cleaned yet. Elevators are slow; and that's putting it nicely. Waited for 9 minutes for an elevator to make it to the 6th floor on one occasion. The Parking garage is horrible; after the 3rd floor; my car bottoms out in several places coming up the ramps (this is in an unmodified new Ford Mustang) and below the 3rd floor is unaccessible to guests unless you pay the $9 nightly valet parking fee; where they make no guarantee what-so-ever about your car. To get housekeeping to clean up the room seems to be an impossible act. I was in the room for 6days and 5 nights; and on 3 different days; I had to call the front desk and REQUEST housekeeping. The pool was continually being either worked on or cleaned; which I realize is normally a good thing; however; this was at 12 in the afternoon. I would have been more understanding if the pool was being cleaned at 7am and it took a little too long (till 9:30 or so) but at noontime I feel is ridiculous. The restaurant was also closed for renovations; and the hotel couldn't say how much longer it would be shut down. I wont be back next year; and wouldn't recommend you wasting your money either.

first of all the elevators would never work!! we stayed on the 15 floor and had to walk down the stairs. STAY ON THE 1st FLOOR!!! Second the restaurant was closed and they dont serve any alcohol by the pool!!! the pool is dirty !! the rooms are so little!!! GO STAY AT THE DAYTON BEACH HOUSE!!! so nice , rooms ar big with a kitchen and so cheap !! we will never stay at this hotel again!!
