Good and Bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/08
Good. The breakfast is excellent. Bad. The bath tub in Rm 136 is a hazard for a senior who takes a bath, as the one hand rail is set to assist in getting in and out when standing. I nearly fell when trying to stand. Bad. The exhaust vent did not work and when I first called the front desk said that there was no exhaust vent. But when someone checked they needed parts to fix it. Bad. Outlets near the bed are inadequate to support two CPAP machines, the clock, and light. A visit to Home Depot should not be required in order to fully utilize the room. Bad. The electronic key would open the door after one to six tries. The secret in opening the door when it swings in, is to pull it as you operate the handle and then usually the door will open. This is really annoying.

Horrible experience at Best Western Forest Inn Gilroy CA
By Blitzburgher, 05/19/08
I stayed two nights at the Forest Inn in Gilroy, with my wife and two young sons. It was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had in a motel that I paid this much money for. Here's just a brief list of SOME of the issues: -Telephones didn't work. Had to use cell phone to let front desk know. Half an hour later a non-English speaking maint guy shows up, spends (literally) and hour and a half under the desk tearing wires apart and never does get it working. Front desk tells me I can move to another room "free of charge". I'd already unpacked everything for me and my family so I declined. -of the 19 or 20 channels on the TV, approx 1/2 of them were in a foreign language. NO CARTOON channels for the kids, and NO PAY PER VIEW option either. Front desk said they were "having problems with the computer, but would get it fixed right away". Two days later when we checked out it still wasn't working. - Ice machines on 3rd and 2nd floors not working. Only working ice machine was on the first floor (we were on the 3rd) all the way at the other end of the complex. (it was right around 100 degrees in Gilroy that weekend). - AC unit either not working right, or woefully undersized. Took 2 hours to get the room cooled down. Left it running with a note to please not turn it off the next day while we were out. Sure enough, come back to the room around five and it's an oven and AC is off. I can only assume that room service was directed to turn all AC's off to conserve energy. -No working laundry on service, the two there were both "out of order". -The absolute WORST CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST I've ever seen. They're wasn't even anything there my two boys would eat. It was completely and utterly a disaster. We spent the money the next day and ate at a local restaurant. So, to sum it up...... I'd highly recommend that you avoid the Best Western Forest Inn in Gilroy. I'll certainly never stay there again, and I'll have to give it serious consideration of I'll ever even stay at another Best Western.

Great place to bed down.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/28/06
I wouldn't hesitate to reccommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area. It is an older motel but so well maintained and very clean. Pros: Easy to find Cute lobby and grounds SUPER CLEAN!!! Well maintained property Restaurant on premise Friendly & helpful staff Free wireless (only accesible in some rooms or the lobby) Clean pool and jacuzzi area Comfortable room size Updated climate control units Relatively quiet Cons: None I can think of, though I would bring my own pillow on a return trip. :) Neutral: Room deco Matresses are average Linens & toiletries average Blackout drapes average

Our Favorite Hotel!
By Patti, 07/27/06
My family and I stay at the Forest Park Inn two or three times a year. We love it because it is so CLEAN and the amenities are great. My daughter requests this hotel in particular. To the person who's things were stolen in the parking lot I say: It's common sense not to leave valuables in plain sight in your car. Forest Park Inn is just as safe as any other hotel I've stayed at- and lot's nicer. Plus it's a good value.

Will be staying there again
By NICOLE, 07/03/06
This was a very nice place to stay at. We went to a Wedding which was only 10 minutes away from the hotel. We stayed on the 2nd floor and had a very nice view of the pool. My kids didn't want to leave. The parking lot was very well lite. It was located next to the shopping outlets which was nice.

RECENT STAY (JAN 2006)
By Rizza V., 02/09/06
We usually attend church activities in Gilroy at least 4 or 5 times a year and most of the members in our church stay in your place. But during our last stay the rented car (left side window)was smashed cd's other personal belongings were gone. It's a sad experience for us and we hope it will not happen to other people staying in your place. Maybe you can add personnel at night inorder to avoid this kind of problem. Even if the service is ok and location is really good for all of us I do not think we will go back thinking it might happen again! Because of what happened, instead of devoting our time soley to the activities in church we needed to contact car rental for the replacement and they gave us a hard time too!!!! We hope that you will improve your security expecially at night. Thank you
