Great Motel and Great Price
By julia, 5/10/12
I was working a job out in Lilly, PA. The WYE was recommended by a few people that lived out there, so I gave it a shot. I asked for a weekly rate and they were very accomodating. It was VERY CLEAN, quiet, the room was cleaned nicely when I came back at night. I had NO problems at all with the internet service. When I needed to come back several weeks later, they accomodated my hap-hazard schedule of nights needed with the utmost professional attitude! If I had to say anything "con" my door stuck a little one night while trying to get back into my room. I have and will continue to recommend this quaint motel to all of my coworkers traveling into that area!

Wi Fi
By Nice Guy, 4/19/12
Thier is nothing wrong with thier wi fi.. seems everytime this guy has a problem he seems to be the only one.. That night guy is a very nice and helpful man.. Harry is his name. He never gives me a attitude when i ask him about the net.. Not his fault the relays outtside sometimes need to be re started.. they are all hard wired in so it really should not matter... the Owner has put alot of money into provideing a service here.. as for the weekly rates.. the Motels Nightly rates average between fifty to sixty dollar a night depending on how many people... this guy is getting their cheap weekly rate which averages around 35 bucks a night... so no. they dont give refunds for early checkouts.. this is a very clean and freindly motel... so if you want to pay over a hunderd bucks a night at the other hotels.. its your money...but i like this place because it fits my budget... i bet it will fit yours too...

Bad Wi-Fi
By Full Tilt, 4/18/12
The good-- clean, and affordable, a weekly rate averages out to less than 40 bucks a night. The bad--If you're spending most of your time in Altoona it's about a 15 mile round trip and if you need to use the internet the Wi-Fi connection is terrible(I'm at the Barnes and Nobles right now) So if you're spending most of your time in Altoona or need the internet you might want to spend the extra 10 bucks a night and stay somewhere else, otherwise it's a decent place to stay.UPDATE. The internet seems to get worse and worse, and the night clerk has an attitude if you ask him to reboot the server(which consists of turning a switch on and off, takes about 10 seconds) When I first registered for a week the clerk had me initial the receipt stating they did not give refunds on remaining days if you left early, apparently this is an issue for them

Great place to stay!
By Susiedarling, 9/29/11
This motel is a great place to stay. Right off the exit, very clean, reasonable rates, pleasant personnel, close to Bedford Fall Festival, Duncansville;s Leighty flea market, lots of close by restaurants, etc. Very historical. We stay there every October and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Love It...
By Fid, 3/30/11
Stay here all the time when in Altoona on business...wouldn't consider anywhere else. Sort of a throwback, but it works. The rooms are much larger than most newer hotels, and the bathrooms are all tile with walk-in showers - I like that. Convenient, too.

Great Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/3/10
Hey I stayed their too, reason why that guy in the last review was so upset was because he had a Dog in his room and got caught, they dont allow pets at the Wye, cant blame them either, well Mr England had to pay extra for having his dog, thus he comes on here and trys to make the Wye look Bad, Shame on Him, oh and that Harry, he is the Best!!!

could be alot better
By brian england, 7/12/10
It was a nice place.well kept.for the price it was well worth it however, make sure you get out before check out time,an hour before atleast. I stayed there with my girlfriend and my parents stayed I'm a room next to us because we were going to a family reunion that day. We reserved the room for two nights and the second morning we had to be out by 11 am.we all got up and went for breakfast around 930 at the eatin park just down the street and and when we returned at 1030, they had gone in our rooms even tho it was still b4 our check out time and we had do not desturb signs on both doors.they told us they assumed we were done with the rooms even tho we hadn't checked out or returned the keys yet. So the place is nice and well kept but the attendance are rude, noisey, and in a hurry to get done for the day even tho they leave there.
