just made reservations
By diysu, 12/8/11
If one is traveling on a budget this is the place, sure it doesn't have all the neat stuff larger (and more expensive) motels have but it has all the things we require. Clean room, clean sheets on the bed, they will give you extra towels or blankets if you need them. Charming couple who run the place. And a real nice resturant right across the street that serves home style, stick to your ribs meals. Won't be hungry an hour later when you eat over there. I give it 5 stars for all the things I mentioned. Calling right now to get our reservation for the holidays....

Betty Davis Slept Here
By Shely, 8/7/10
Cheap...I'll give you that. I'm not going to bore you with cliches. I will tell you that it is adjacent to the railroad tracks and they run all night long. When it's over 100 during the day and not much relief at night, you would expect the air conditioning to work. This one almost caught fire at midnight. My wife woke me up and was frightened. The place smelled of burning wires from the a/c. My daughter had a kart race the next day. I had to make sure she slept. I appraoched the manager the next morning and was told I should have called him as he would have come out and fixed the unit. At midnight we want to watch a bunch of workman fix the a/c unit? I told him that I would some kind of credit for the inconvenience. He said he would not charge us for the room. Really? He never reversed the charge and would not return my calls. The lights are all dim (low wattage bulbs to save money?), the walls are all patched, and to top it off....there was blood on the curtains. I think the man at the front desk was called Norman Bates. Cough up the extra $20.00 and stay at a hilton, Best Western, or Marriott.Edit - Delete

Looked okay from outside in the day time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/11/08
First thing the electric key takes about five tries to open the door. Once in the room their was no security to lock the door from within the room. the carpet was old and had burned in iron marks. The sheets were dusty and not well washed. Once in the room made my way to the restroom which the towels needed a second wash and the toilet needed serious repair it was noisey and looked like water was going to come rushing out. Once it got late I just realised that their was no way I could stay their. Checked out the same day.

It was okay
By Angela, 2/13/08
Compared to the "live in Motel" next door, Applegate was the Ritz. Applegate was clean, but in need of renovation. I found a cigarette burn in my bed spread (you know things like that). Staff was super friendly, and VERY ACCOMEDATING (sp?) Then allowed us to have 5 girls in one room, and about 6 boys in another room. Rates are reasonable, and I am staying there again this year for the same conference.

May re-think
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/7/07
Well it was clean and I really appreciated the carpeting being clean, however the restroom/bath area needed some immediate attention. The patch work in the tub was almost comical and light fixtures needed replacing. The front office persons were really helpful and it was good having Denny's in the ajoining parking lot.

peaceful,gardenesque setting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/12/06
I enjoyed sitting in my chair, which i pulled outside my door, admiring all of the almond trees in bloom and listened to the all the sounds while enjoying the warm sun, exchanging an occasional greeting with other guests, and then we crossed the street to the almond restaurant for a great valued, as well as a very good tasting dinner.(2 minute walk) We slept comfortably, then hit the road. i would stay here again next time passing thru.
