Inn on the Lakes, Sebring

1st room I checked into smelled like an ashtray. I requested to be moved and they said there was nothing ready so I had to wait. No apology was given. Bed was also very uncomfortable and everything just didn't seem clean and sheets very dingy. Bar was ok but I would recommend eating there and then staying at the Holiday Inn or Marriott. Expected more since I paid top dollar. Only good thing was the view of the lake.

I was charmed when I first saw the hotel. It is lovely, has an old world charm and amazing landscaping. So all started quite well. We arrived on Friday night, went to our room and started unpacking. Then, I noticed that there was quite a bit of water on the floor in the bathroom. We called the front desk. The maid and the manager came to inspect. They asked us if we wanted to change room or see what would happen after they mopped the floor. We chose to stay in. No water overnight. The next morning, when the people upstairs started to use their shower, water came pouring down from the vent/light fixture combo. That's where the water was from! OK...no one can predict that. We changed room on Saturday afternoon. The second room we were given smelled like an cold ashtray. We went back to the front desk and told them no way we could stay in there. We were given a gift card to their restaurant for the trouble and a third room. That one was very nice so...in we went. We had a good night, left early Sunday morning and when we came back Sunday afternoon, there was a note on our door. We opened the said door and SURPRISE!!!! Everything in the room was gone. Including all of our stuff! The note said to come to the front desk to get our new room assignment. Apparently the room had been promised to someone else and they had forgotten about it. Everything we had left in the room; purse, laptop, clothes, shoes, toiletries, etc. had been taken and moved to another room. The 4th one in 3 days! eerie detail: all the stuff had been placed in the exact same position. They probably took a picture of the vanity and replaced all my toiletries like I had placed them myself....Creepy!! I have a really big problem with that! Don't touch my stuff without my permission! Call me, wait for me to come back, I don't care but Don't touch my stuff! When we went to the front desk I was expecting a manager to present some form of apology but...NOTHING! Not a word. Needless to say I was fuming. I was so enchanted with the hotel but because of that particular incident, I would not recommended it to anyone. In my opinion, moving people's belonging without their consent or even knowledge is quite unacceptable.

One of the best hotels in Florida. We recommend it to everyone we talk to. Every town should have a hotel like these. Want to thank them for the wonderfull Gift Certificate that they donated to The Love Of Cats in Marco Island. You are truly wonderful people. When you stay, don't forget to say hello to the cat who lives in the Lobby.

Loved the relaxing pool and Garden. Spectacular lake view. Food was good, best dining in Sebring. Bartender was super.

This place is hands down the nicest place in town. The hotel is clean, newly remodeled and has the friendliest staff who always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast they serve in the morning is wonderful, not too mention the lunch and dinner too. Chicanes is a great place to eat. I would recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay and fine dining at great rates!

a 5 star hotel at 2 star prices. just returned after attending uncles funeral and this is without a doubt one of the nicest places i have ever stayed. the whole staff was very nice and attentive to all our needs. would recommend this place to anyone.

No Internet access. Musty smelling room. Twin beds. The people in the restaurant seemed nice but the people at the front desk of the motel didn't seem to like people dressed in motorcycle riding leathers.

I've never stayed here, but just wanted to say to be very cautious of the restaurant Chicanes that is on site. A few months ago it was shut down due to roach problems and had lots of violations. In fact, it had almost 20 violations and was most likely the restaurant with the most violations in Highlands county. On its last inspection, it only had 5-7 violations, but just be cautious before eating here.

Sky high prices during Sebring events, ridiculous minimums also required, no cancellations allowed and a lack of respect for returning customers. Good luck with this one.

Great getaway with the golf package. The rooms are beautiful, the bar and restaurant have great atmosphere and food. The golf package includes breakfast and the best course to play is Highlands Ridge North.
