Comfort Suites Moab, Moab

We arrived at Moab after a long drive from Craig in Colorado. The Hotel was a great temperature after a hot drive. The staff were friendly and the room was quite big. The niggle was the coffee machine, that only had de-caf coffee, but I was told this was it being in Utah? The Pool was a good size but needed filtering as it was not fully clear. The laundery had been monopolised by one guests, and she had every machine in use instead of sharing. The Hotel was in easy walking distance for some good eating places. The rooms were quite and we had no problems in this HOtel.

Our first room was clearly not vacuumed, it smelled terrible and included used toothpicks on the bedside table. The second room was cleaner but neither room had a functional WiFi signal. Judging by the number of people using their computers in the lobby the first night I don't think the WiFi worked anywhere else and it only worked in the lobby on that first night so I had to park my car in another hotel's parking lot to get some work done. The front desk staff was terrible! They were often on their cell phones and two of them had their boyfriend/husband hang out at the hotel during their entire shift. Finally, we had requested a 12:00 check out time when we checked in but when we got back to the hotel at 11:30 to check out they had already disabled our keys. When I approached the attendant about this she said that they didn't authorize late checkouts for that weekend. I had to point out to her that she was the one who had said it would be okay when we checked in. All in all it was a terrible experience.

Our room was filthy! The bedspreads were soiled and stained. The nightstand had dried coffee stains and human hair on the surface. Obviously, it had not been cleaned. The walls and ceiling were covered with cobwebs. The bathroom tub had human hair in the drain and no drain cover. When we first entered our room we noticed there was no bathmat and only one half roll of toilet paper and no addional t/p rolls in the room. Upon our check-in at 3 p.m., there was a large bag of garbage in the hallway two doors from our room. It was still there at 10 a.m. the next morning. We were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the motel and we would not stay there again! The staff and management must have changed because this is definitely not the same hotel we stayed at in April 2007.
