Days Inn Airport/Maine Mall, South Portland

This place was just awful! I travel very frequently and needed a place to stay as I was passing through Portland. What a wrong choice. I paid cash and had a coupon. I got my room number and proceeded to get my stuff ready and find the entrance I was supposed to use. Well what a surprise. Trash piled up! GROSS! I also received a message from the desk telling me I had underpayed and I was dishonest! I was so upset. The manager called me up and told me to come and pay her more money and I wouldnt be receiving my deposit back. What a rip off. The lighting was terrible and felt like I was in a dungeon. The security doors at all the other entrances after hours have been removed so just anyone can walk in. I certainly didnt feel safe at all. Every time I walked in and out of the hotel...no matter what time it was there was always guys that worked for the hotel standing outside my room. This is kind of unnerving. Conviently after I had the little argument with the manager my vehicle which had brand new tires had two flats. This place was a big mistake that I will NEVER make again.

We spent two nights while visting our son, we will stay here again, its clean and has an excellent breakfast, its near all the chain resturants, and right across from the Mall. Great Bargin
