First off I would like to recommend "do not ask about our jacuzzi rooms" It is fairly objective and drives home the right point. I spent the night at this hotel 2 nights ago. We arrived in Port Clinton after trying to get out of Sandusky to find cheaper hotels out of town. It was dark, we were exhausted after a long day, we had 15 college students with us who hadnt slept, eaten, or had more than 15 inches of personal space in 14 hours. After a long trip at cedar point we couldn't drive back to Grand Rapids and needed a hotel badly. We could not find any double rooms at super8, comfort inn, best western... Best Budget Inn was recommended by the Comfort Inn. The sign said "super clean rooms, super lean rates". The staff had no problem admitting all of our party to two junior suites at a great price, and tried to give us 59.00 a night on double rooms - but they were all booked. They were pleasant and friendly, and did the best they could for us, WERE HAPPY TO LET US SEE THE ROOMS BEFORE BOOKING. OUR LARGE JUNIOR SUITES WERE AS ADVERTISED - Super clean, Super Lean. The beds were nicely made with quality sheets. (sheet quality says a lot). We we're more than happy to be in a small apartment sized room with 3 beds and a pull out couch, a table with chairs, and a nice kitchen. Soon after we got there the front desk came to our rooms with enough shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash, soap, shavers... extra blankets... pillows - ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE. They offered to call next door to get roll away beds as theirs were all in use. The lights all worked, the TV's all worked, the AC worked, the fridge worked, the pull out bed was as comfortable as could be expected, the towels were pretty soft... anyone getting bent out of shape that one showers cold was hot and vice versa, or that a bathroom drawer is missing a knob - is missing the big picture. Only when I woke up and walked out on the balcony did I realize that we were 50 feet from lake eerie, with a pool, and a nice gazebo and courtyard, also small continental breakfast - WITH GOOD COFFEE...
I can see where people who booked here for several days expecting lake eerie may be disappointed - if they had dirty rooms and whatnot - but we didn't have any of those problems. We feel we got more than we payed for - clean rooms as large as an apartment, with working everything, and enough extras for everyone - on a good sunrise lake, with a pool, and a breakfast. What did it cost?- a hundred seventeen dollars all said and done.
We stayed till checkout and even took pictures.
