Filty Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/11
I did not like a thing will never go back. Everything was dirty. Short staff. No hot water the air conditioner was broke the beds was not clean sheets. Many of us complained it was the worst stay ever. The carpet is very dirty and the handrailings black grems everywhere. I would not recommend this Inn to anyone,

The Best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/11/11
This is a great hotel on the water. What a view! Staff is super friendly. Vince one of the managers was so helpful didn't expect to see management late at night. Not a five star hotel but its clean and the people goes out of their way.

I'LL BE BACK!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/11
I love the view of the lake. Great customer service! Shelly went out her way to help us with things to do while we there. When we missed the shuttle to the Jet express, she personally drive us to catch the boat. Great service, Great price and extremely friendly host! It's not a 5 star hotel but you're not paying for one either. Where can you stay during peak season for $79 a night? I definitely got more than what i paid for....Will return next year.

Think Twice before staying here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/11
When we checked in the staff was nice. Our first room had nice beds however the ac didn't work. They promptly moved us to another room. The second room they moved us to the beds were like sleaping on rocks, the room had a funny smell, to the point we couldn't sleep in there. The mayflies were in season and all over our rooms, which is not in their fault. The beds under the sheets were like something you would buy at Goodwill for about 20 dollors. The outside was nice, pool was good with lounge chairs, the docks was cheap but we had fun attempting to fish from it anyhow. The hotels is older, but so is most of the hotels in this area. It is in bad need of updating. The breakfast was a joke. They had green banannas, some donughts, hard boiled eggs, toasat and coffee. Hardly what I call a contiential breakfast. I wont stay there again, but however, all the hotels in the Port Clinton area leave something to be desired. Stay in Marblehead if you go here. Marblehead has nice hotels (not all listed on websites either) and is such a cleaner area. Port Clinton has really went down hill in general.

WE STAY HERE EVERY YEAR!!!
By Valerie, 10/1/10
I love the staff they make you feel at home -Ruby,Cherilynn and Deborah are all hard workers!! We always stay in suite 230, and we have never had any problems! As I look at the reviews it makes me mad that these people have nothing nice to say and half of these reviews are from people who waited to the last minute to find rooms knowing damn well its peak season in Port Clinton every weekend of the summer. And you can barely move around in the hotels on the streets in your car and there is a line everywhere you go and plus its hot! Summertime at all the hotels in Port Clinton feels like they are all over crowded but if you are not a first timer then you would know that its a blessing to get a room anywhere up there! but DO NOT put down this hotel because you waited to the last minute to find a hotel and your room wasnt on the side with the beautiful views of the water and the very beautiful breathtaking sunsets and sunrises! And as hot as its was this summer in Port Clinton 101 plus degree everyday all of these reviews sound like these people were in the sun and had been drinking a little bit too much! So leave my favorite place to stay alone! We stay here every month from May-September for the past 10 years!!! Valp

Will definitely be back!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/10
We are already planning to go back. The location is fabulous. The rooms are large and clean. They have a great deck overlooking the lake, which was very large and offered a great view of the sunset. The staff was extremely friendly. The coffee in the lobby was very good and available all day long. The jacuzzi in the room was a nice relaxation after a long day on the island. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice getaway. We will be back.

Do Not stay at this Hotel!!!!
By Carribeth, 7/19/10
We had to change rooms upon check in as there was NO electric, a drippy shower, and no flushing toilet in the the room we had booked. The second room was not very clean. The very next morning the electric went out in that suite.had to put off out trip to Put In Bay until their electrician could come and fix the problem. The hotel manager was very very rude and unwilling to do much of anything for us. We had to haggle to get a lousy 15% discount. The 'continental breakfast' was day old doughnuts bagels and muffins, rotten apples and oranges, and a very pitiful coffee 'station'. Do yourself a favor and DO Not Stay at this Hotel!!!!!!

Great for Young People.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/10
First off I would like to recommend "do not ask about our jacuzzi rooms" It is fairly objective and drives home the right point. I spent the night at this hotel 2 nights ago. We arrived in Port Clinton after trying to get out of Sandusky to find cheaper hotels out of town. It was dark, we were exhausted after a long day, we had 15 college students with us who hadnt slept, eaten, or had more than 15 inches of personal space in 14 hours. After a long trip at cedar point we couldn't drive back to Grand Rapids and needed a hotel badly. We could not find any double rooms at super8, comfort inn, best western... Best Budget Inn was recommended by the Comfort Inn. The sign said "super clean rooms, super lean rates". The staff had no problem admitting all of our party to two junior suites at a great price, and tried to give us 59.00 a night on double rooms - but they were all booked. They were pleasant and friendly, and did the best they could for us, WERE HAPPY TO LET US SEE THE ROOMS BEFORE BOOKING. OUR LARGE JUNIOR SUITES WERE AS ADVERTISED - Super clean, Super Lean. The beds were nicely made with quality sheets. (sheet quality says a lot). We we're more than happy to be in a small apartment sized room with 3 beds and a pull out couch, a table with chairs, and a nice kitchen. Soon after we got there the front desk came to our rooms with enough shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash, soap, shavers... extra blankets... pillows - ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE. They offered to call next door to get roll away beds as theirs were all in use. The lights all worked, the TV's all worked, the AC worked, the fridge worked, the pull out bed was as comfortable as could be expected, the towels were pretty soft... anyone getting bent out of shape that one showers cold was hot and vice versa, or that a bathroom drawer is missing a knob - is missing the big picture. Only when I woke up and walked out on the balcony did I realize that we were 50 feet from lake eerie, with a pool, and a nice gazebo and courtyard, also small continental breakfast - WITH GOOD COFFEE... I can see where people who booked here for several days expecting lake eerie may be disappointed - if they had dirty rooms and whatnot - but we didn't have any of those problems. We feel we got more than we payed for - clean rooms as large as an apartment, with working everything, and enough extras for everyone - on a good sunrise lake, with a pool, and a breakfast. What did it cost?- a hundred seventeen dollars all said and done. We stayed till checkout and even took pictures.

HORRIBLE SERVICE
By Amanda, 7/6/10
We called to reserve and were told we would be in room 216 facing the lake. When we arrived we were in a smaller suite that faced the parking lot. I spoke with the manager and informed her that we were to be in a room facing the lake and she rudely said "Well, we're completely booked so this is all we have." Not "Sorry" or "I apologize". We went back to the room and decided to make the best of it. Once we looked around and saw dirt on the ceiling, a mouse trap by the refridgerator, foot prints on the walls and cobwebs with dead bugs in 3 different corners, we decided to just check out and start over some where else. When we informed the front desk that we were checking out, they tried to keep our money informing us that we had to pay full price because we were in the room for more than 2 hours- we were only there for 30 minutes. I had to fight with the "Customer Service" person to get my money back. It was awful and disgusting and ruined our entire trip. The best part was when we were checking out, someone else came in asked for a room and the frond desk clerk told them they had 2 suites available after telling me that they were completely booked. I'll never stay there again, and I would recommend you don't either.

We'll be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/10
This was the second year in a row for us.This is NOT a 5 STAR hotel and you are NOT paying for one either. The carpets do need cleaned. We had six people in our party and 2 of the 3 couples had no problems but 1 of our couples did. Their key card wouldn't open their doors . It was reprogrammed twice and still didn't work. They got up graded from a single double to a jacuzzi suite. The remotes didn't work the TV's but we weren't there to watch TV.Their air conditioner didn't work and in the morning they didn't have any hot water either. I think they just didn't let it run long enough. We had to let our water run for 10 MINUTES but it got hot. The other party had NO water problems. This is a lake front property and the view of the lake is stunning. There is a deck at the water and a gazabo and a court yard. Quite lovely. I will be staying there next year when we go fishing! ANDY the desk guy was a HOOT BTW he put the continential breakfast out at 5:00AM instead of 6:00am because he knew we were leaving at 5:30. It does have some issues but the staff is friendle and very nice and helpfull.
