5 reviews for King's Cottage, A Bed & Breakfast Inn, Lancaster
Not good!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/07
My husband and I stayed at this place for a weekend. When we first arrived at 3:00 o'clock, we were told to come back, because check in was at 4:00. (They didn't let us storage our suitcases) Then when we came back we were surprised that our room {The Kings room} didn't have a bathroom inside the room, we had to walk through a hallway in order to use it... The worst thing was the price... We had to pay 200 dollars per night... The next day we found another better b&B, which was much more nicer, better located and less expensive. We paid 120 dollars and we had our private bathroom (small but inside our room). Not to mention the location of the King's cottage is bad, facing a main avenue with lot's of traffic coming by.

Avoid like the plague!
By DavidC, 12/31/06
Stayed here for a romatic getaway in the 'Majestic Chamber'; what a joke! The Inn is located next to a main thoroughfair and one is treated to traffic noise at all hours, not the mention lights from traffic at night. The room was a bit musty and the entire Inn suffers from noise propagation. Our room, the M.C. was next to the kitchen and dining room so sleeping in is impossible given the morning ruckus. Say your money and spend the night elsewhere!

Sterling Service to Perfection
By Michael, Sonny, 11/24/06
I liked everything about the "Kings Cottage". Friendly service and very attentive to our needs. Breakfast is the best you can really get for a bed and breakfast cottage. Quite and clean. You just could not ask for more. Michael Sonny Hart NYC...

A great B&B
By ThomasA, 11/22/06
I was looking for a place to take my wife to for the weekend to celebrate her 30th birthday. I found the King's Cottage and we stayed for two nights. Due to their vacancy status, we wound up staying the first night in the Majestic Chambre and then moved to the Carriage House for the second night. The Inn Keepers, Janis and Ann, were very friendly and helpful. Both rooms were very nicely decorated and had jacuzzi tubs. I had flowers delivered before our arrival and when they arrived in an ugly orange vase, they contacted me and the florist to get them put in the vase I had ordered. We had a gourmet breakfast in our room both mornings that was delivered to our door in a picnic basket. Very tasty. It is in a nice location near downtown Lancaster and also the Outlet Malls nearby. They are more than happy to give you dining suggestions. We've stayed at many nice hotels and B&B's, and this was among the best. They even had a birthday card for my wife in the room.

"We're Coming Back"--what we both said the moment we got in the car.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/12/05
What are you looking for in a Bed and Breakfast? My partner and I were lookign to relax, have some great food, and enjoy an area we had never been to before. We decided on Lancaster, PA and the King's Cottage. And we were pleasantly surprised. Honesty, we aren't fussy travellers. I don't expect the whole world to revolve around me when I travel and am often fine with things being pleasant. Not at King's Cottage. Try soothing and enjoyable, cozy and inviting, delicious and even fun. In short, this place had the most attentive and engaging innkeepers of any place we have stayed. Very well-considered touches including a card in our room for our anniversary, a sane and well-timed cleaning schedule, afternoon tea and evening cordials, and truly some of the kindest people I've met traveling in some time. Our room, the "Princess Suite" was beautiful without being over the top. I just can't stand waking up feeling like I got jumped by doilies, antique dolls, sachets of potpourri and lace everythings. There is something to be said for knowing when enough is enough--knowing the difference between lovely and relaxing and cartoonishly quaint. Our room was lovely and relaxing. The linens were crisp and luxurious, the double bath was so relaxing I nearly fell asleep. Plush towels, a TV/DVD, and our own little balcony were just perfect. Here we relaxed and truly had a romantic, quiet getaway with some wonderful hosts able to guide us to wonderful dining (Strawberry Hill and El Serrano), and a hanful of repeat guests who were delightful. I highly suggest going there right now. We will definitely be back.
