Not worth the money.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/09
Another couple and I booked this place for two days. We were told that it was suitable for two couples. Upon arrival found that it consisted of one double bed, one single and a couch that could be made into a bed. We asked for enough towels to shower and were eventually were brought the towels and the girls made the "hide away". The next day after returning found that the maids had not made the beds, did not leave enough towels or clean the room. We found a receipt from another guest in the ice container.

What a Dump!!!
By Tiny from Alaska, 09/04/08
$316.90 A NIGHT!!! I booked 5 rooms at the Chalet for the last week in August and thank God we were only there for one night. We arrived late, after dark, and found the building we were in, O building, almost completely unlit. After stumbling up the rickety old stairs to get to 2 of our rooms, the other 3 were downstairs, we looked in to find the rooms, while clean, were old and for lack of a better term "crusty". The single bed was pushed up against one wall and the double bed was pushed up against another with a bedside table between them. This required my wife and I to sleep in separate beds so that one of us wouldn't have to climb over the other if a bathroom trip was needed. In the morning when trying to take a shower I found that I would have had a better shower by spitting in the wind. The water flow was weaker than any I have ever experienced. After this dismal experience I will never stay at this "resort" again and will tell everyone I can to stay away too. Although, if you are hungry for a good breakfast buffet they do have a very nice one and fairly reasonably priced compared to their $316.90 a night crappy room (inc. tax).

Ok place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/08
Well, overall it wasn't a bad place to stay at, however the showers didn't seem to work properly. While your taking a shower, it was either too hot or too cold. The water temp switched quite often. Another couple had the same problem. The dining experience was great. I really recommend the Dinner theater. It was a very nice surprise. Overall, it wasn't a bad place to stay at. I would give this place a 5 star only if the shower would work correctly.

Wrong Picture
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/12/08
The pictures are of McKinley Village located South of the Denali Park entrance. The Sign Post 239 is the right address for the Chalet. The staff and management of both faclities go to great effort to make every guest feel at home. Sad to say many people don't like to be at home.

Don' stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/07
The carpet in our room was covered with stains. We had to wear our shoes the entire time in the room. Room seemed dirty! Booked a tour at the front desk for a bus ride into Denali. We paid 85.00 each for a four to five hour ride. Driver had us back in less than 3 hours and we only went into the park 17 miles. The park offers a free ride into park to 15 miles, but we didn't know until after we paid the money. I did complain about it and the company agreed to refund our money. Cabin Nite was a mess!!! The key word was "interactive" You can't even eat your food without someone rubbing your shoulders, kissing men's bald heads, singing to you. The salad was brown, the food was cold and tasted terrible.

Not Worth It
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/25/07
It is as if the whole resort area is owned by the big cruise lines and they promote it as being great. Nothing great there. Very expensive. Very limited dining options. Room prices are way out in the sky for a very average facility. It is an ok get away place if money is not an issue and you want to do it once. I would much rather return to Yellowstone or Glacier National Park (in Montana) 3 times more rather than visit Denali again. Just to emphasize how unimpressive Denali is. There are many other places to visit.

OK
By Shonna, 09/12/05
We had an OK time in Denali. There isn't alot to do there. Very few shops and dining choices. Room was nice, but our bathroom was dirty. Floor was dirty along with the bathtub. Downstairs room was noisy from occupants upstairs. Scenery was ok too. If we go back, it would be by RV.

Chalet experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/08/04
I have stayed twice at the chalet and find it to be adequate. The rooms are basic and cleaning service for the rooms is spotty. The staff in the restaurants are very nice as are the staff at the front desk. The experience of being in the area with its natural beauty overcomes any small imperfections.
