Frontier Motel, Roosevelt

THE BEST!!!! Our employees have been staying there for the last 3 months and they all rave about how great everything is. The rooms are clean, the cafe is great and the service is excellent. We moved our employees to the Frontier Motel because of their complaints about another motel they were staying at. The rates are cheaper than the other motel in the area and we think the motel is much better. We cannot say enough about how great the Frontier Motel and their staff have been.

The hotel was fairly pricey I paid $104.00 for 2 beds. I walked in and took off my shoes to relax but once I started walking around I noticed the carpet was filthy, sticky, and disgusting. I wore my shoes the rest of the night and the next day. I arrived at 4pm and was told that check in is at 4 but the rooms would not be ready for another hour. The restaraunt is great they have awesome navajo tacos and scones but other than that I would never stay here again.

Good - There was a bed, DirecTV, refrigerator & a bathroom. Bad -- The room was 95° on a 30° night (my clock has a thermometer). I turned off the ceiling heat and turned on the AC. Cooled it down to 71° in 8 hours. The toilet leaked so bad it was refilling every 30 seconds. I turned off the water supply. No coffee pot or microwave so no way to heat water for tea or coffee. Decor is awful; hasn't improved since I stayed there in 1981. Wood paneling, shag carpet, flourescent shop light next to the bed. This motel has made gobs of money over the years from oilfield activity. They need to invest in upgrading the place. $84/night isn't cheap. Next time I have a meeting in Roosevelt, I'm staying in Vernal, 30 miles to the east.

This Motel is a great place to stay in the Uintah Basin. The rooms were clean and very spacious. It cost's a little more than in the city, but what do you expect for a place so far away from the big cities. However it was $30 cheaper than the other place in town, The Best Value Inn. The service was great and the maids were very friendly! I would recommend staying there if your traveling through and you want a quiet and friendly atmosphere! They also have a full service restaurant on site. Let me tell you this is on of the best places I have eaten in a while. The home made scones and soup was yummy. We ate there for breakfast and dinner and both experiences were great and the food was delicious and very affordable!

I saw the info here that implied this was a cheap place to stay. Its not ! Maybe its because we just showed up at 11pm, but we paid $105 for two beds. Everywhere else along our trip from SLC to central Colorado, we were able to find places that were around $60. ( although they weren't all as nice ) Granted, there was a pool, hot tub, and wifi, but we didn't need any of that.... just a spot to sleep. If you are on a budget, I would recommend calling around to ask rates, and maybe ask about basics since one spot we found didn't have A/C or an ice machine that works. (although the fan worked fine... it wasn't that hot there. ) By the way, the restaurant does have a great breakfast, but the continental consisted of coffee, plain bagels, and apples.

It is a nice cozy place to stay in the Uintah Basin. The motel is in the center of town off the highway. The rooms are spacious. They have a old country style feel, but are very clean and well taken care of. The food is probably one of the best things about this place. They give you so much food for the money. The meals come with soup, salad bar and a home made daily desert. These are always extras when you go to restaurants in the city. The food was great and the service was fantastic. We did have a problem with the internet service and we called the front office and Laura the front desk lady said let me call someone and see what we can do. To our suprise a young man came to our room and helped us get the internet working. The man was very helpful and kind. It was a setting on our computer that had to be fixed. To our suprise when we checked out the next day, we asked the front desk lady to thak the man who came and got our internet working. We told him his name was Chris and she replied that he was the owner. You can see why they do such a great job at this restaurant and motel. The owner truly craes about his guest and does a great job! We would recomend this place to anyone that is traveling through the Uintah Basin.

I think it is a great place. We stay there every time we come. The rooms are nice and the remodeled ones are even nicer. The motel is clean and quiet and the restaurant is awesome!! I have learned not to pay heed to negative reviews. We know lots of people who stay there when visiting family and they all agree it is better than the others that charge more.

I liked that the Housekeeping was friendly and responsive. The price is too much for what you don't get. My TV was fuzzy for the entire stay and the owner was informed of this but did nothing about it. The internet was intermittent and not working for the 1st 2 days I was there. When I urgently needed laundry done and the nearest facility was over 40 miles away I spoke with the owner again "NO" help. That particular day I spent all day driving around and finally after 120 miles I found a great "secret" place not crowded and there was also a Motel there over $20. cheaper/night. The next morning I moved to Duchesne where the people are more friendly and made me feel at home. BTW there is a great river there in Duchesne to go fishing too. My 2nd cast and I caught a small speckled Brown trout...
