Waning beauty

The property seemed a bit "past its prime" and was running on past fame. To be sure, the location was prime, the price was a reasonable $99. There was a beautifully decorated lobby and cherry wood furniture in the rooms. However, there were also many disappointments. In our room the bedroom mattress was smaller than the bedframe, showing an unsightly and hazardous gap. The service was perfunctory, but not warm or friendly. Most disappointingly, the breakfast was quite poor. The fruit and pastries seemed unfresh and the coffee was dilute. It was an overall average stay at a place that probably used to be more deserving of its 3 diamond rating.
