DO NOT STAY HERE.
By Hawaii, 5/5/12
They have awful customer service. We had an incident with a patron in the connecting room who's tv was too loud at midnight. The paper thin walls dont help, but I called to ask the front desk to have him turn it down, and he went crazy. He started trying to get into our room through the connecting doors. When I called the manager to ask for a new room he told me to stay put & not to worry, the guy is harmless. He cant hurt me or get into our room. 5 mins later, I call back & demand a new room b/c he was banging hard on the doors & trying to break the handle part, and his response was "Really? Really? You want me to get you a new room? You want me to make a new key?" Ugh, yes-I have two small children with me. Long story short-the police were called, and the guy had ripped his side of the door completely off, and was probably 5 mins away from getting through ours. When I asked for a refund for that night, the guy laughed at me, said he basically blamed me for him staying up till 130am with the police, and told me to get out of here. We checked out early. If you want to feel safe, find another hotel.

Basic lodging. Great location, great price
By Lyman, 9/1/10
Went to this location with some hesitancy because of previous posts. As of 8/10 the room was pleasantly acceptable. This is an old motor lodge, no pool, no extra amenities. the room smelled a little stale when we got in, but after a few minutes of the A/C running, it was fine. Bathroom was worn, but clean. Room was basic, but with the added benefit of a little living room/kitchenette, which added welcome extra space. Without the extra space, we would have gone bonkers. We did have to keep asking or towels, there were 4 of us, and we kept on only getting sets of towels. But we eventually got them. We were visiting attractions in Mystic/Groton and this was VERY CONVENIENT to the sub base, the Coast Guard Academy, UCONN Avery Point, etc. Continental breakfast was bagels muffins and toast, cereal and milk, coffee, etc. Not a full buffet like some places. I usually go to Residence Inn and pay through the nose for it. This was a last minute trip and I was happy to get this room and at a fraction of what I usually pay. Not luxury, but reasonable.

100% dissatisfied!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/5/08
Going to bed first night noticed sheets had not been changed from last guests, hair, blood stains, dirty.Next morning asked for sheets to be changed.Come back from casino that night, same dirty sheets on bed, same stains on sheets.Had to move at midnight to another room.At front desk they told us they only change sheets every two days.Pics online look good but couldn't find that room when we got there.Outside looks good, inside run down, old, dirty.Furniture looks like it was picked up from someones trash along the road.On checking out they wanted to bill me for both nights like nothing was wrong. Finally, after arguing with desk clerk, discounted me for one night. I would not suggest this hotel unless you like old, run down, dirty places.

OMG Gross!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/07
This place is disgusting. Walking in I noticed the nasty stained carpeting and it only got worse from there. The decor, the furnishings, the fixtures are old. Our room felt like it had been put together with items from a yard sale! We asked for a non-smoking room and got a room that reeked of mothballs and deodorizer that was trying to hide the smoke smell. And to top it all off this place cost us $116 for my worst hotel stay ever!

Great service but old
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/07
The furnishings and decor are old and worn. Everything needs a good coat of paint. Things like the air conditioning and plumbing are in desperate need of updating. The rooms are strictly no-frills, without even a hair dryer or plastic bag for laundry. However, the rooms were clean and spacious and the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

ENJOY YOURSELF
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/07
I loved the size of the Presidential Suites. These suites are very large. My fiance and I have stayed here twice when this Inn was the Sojourner Inn and once when it was Econo Lodge. It's very romantic. However, the price has gone up dramatically since Econ Lodge took over.

I would recommend this to anyone
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/07
This is an older facility, but clean. They appear to be upgrading it currently, painting etc. Most of the stuff is worn but it is clean. The landscape was very attractive. The rates are very reasonable for the area. All of the people were very helpful and pleasant. It is convenient to the casinos, the sub base and Mystic Seaport. Bed was comfortable and extra living area and kitchen were a huge plus. Bathroom vanity appeared new, however the shower nozzle was probably 30 years old. If and when I return to the area I will return to this place. Internet connection was about the speed of dial-up at times. No pool, but I don't use it anyway.

Great, inexpensive place to stay
By RosemaryC, 5/29/07
The room I had was very large, I would say it was more like a suite than a room. There was a small kitchen area with refrigerator, microwave and stove and a breakfast island. There was a sitting area with a chair, loveseat and sleeper couch. The bedroom was separated by a wall, not quite a separate room but almost. King size bed, jacuzzi bathtub and even a balcony. The room did have a funny smell when I first entered, probably the cleaning products used to remove the smell of smoke from the room. Unfortunately I couldn't get a non-smoking room, but a couple of candles did the job. A/C in the sitting area didn't cool the room very well, but the bedroom was cool enough. Continental breakfast was okay, I've had better. The location really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. With a map of the town you can find several alternate routes using backroads that can get you where you want to be faster than going all the way back to 95. I would stay here again.

Not recommended
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/9/07
Lobby smelt funny.....rooms are very old and worn. First room we were put into had a broke toilet that ran constantly. After asking for a different room we got one that the heater didn't work properly. Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
