Great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/08
We were going to book a lake villa at the resort but found them on VRBO for about half what the resort charges. So our rating is on the Lake Villa we rented on VRBO The logde looked nice but was very expensive. We ate at the grille and it was good. Their boat rental was higher than the one we rented at Boundry Waters. Their pool area was nice. We played golf at their course about a half hour away and at Brasstown. Brasstown was in much better shape. You can't beat the location but we recomend you shop around for better deals than you get through the Resort. We are going back for leaf season.

DO NOT GO HERE
By eliza, 07/02/08
I have never been so angry or disappointed. I booked a weekend here to surprise my husband for our anniversary - when we arrived, I was shocked at how decieving the pictures were. They make it look like you drive down this long road to arrive to the resort, when in fact it is right off of a busy road and truly looks like a dump. You think you are booking a place that has a golf course on site ( no, you have to drive 8 miles to get to it, and then good luck getting in the gate bc there was no one there when we went). We paid $310/night for a "lakeside" villa, and were as far away from the h20 as possible. We could have stayed at the Ritz at Lake Oconee for $310/night, and been at a very nice resort! The pool at the Ridges is a joke, hence the reason there are no pictures, the staff is ok, the food is horrible- dont' even go to the Yacht Club! Oh, it also appears that they have three or four restaurants on site, nope, you have to drive 8 miles(to the other Ridges resort!). We would have checked out when we got there, but they werern't going to give us our money back. I wish I had read these other reviews prior to booking - i would have not gone!

Wish we stayed home!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/07
My wife and I were booked to stay for four nights, and left after the second night. The food was poorly prepared, and the atmosphere, and employee's of the resort itself was abundantly disrespectfull, and rude. The rooms smelled of mildew, and were old. We ate twice at the resort, and tried the desserts, which were horrible, and small portioned. This is the quaint moutains people, not Boca raton, Fla!!! Never again!! Parking lot filthy, rooms second rate, food...everything was bad, bad , bad!!! Wished we stayed home!!!

Will not return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/07
Food was mediocre at best, and extremely overpriced. Mixed drinks were watered down and also overpriced. Rooms were remodeled to be not as nice and twice as expensive as before. No more free coffee in the lobby.

additional charges
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/02/07
the room was very nice, however, my husband and I both smoke, we were courteous and smoked on the balcony, no problem, the staff did not explain anything about any additional charges, we paid by credit card before check- in, we booked on the internet, the day after we left, a charge appeared on my statement for $150.00 - no explanation other than we smoked. If you are a smoker don't book here.

Not for the Common Man
By John, 02/15/06
Not the best place unless you have Lot's of money and are showing it ! My wife and I were wearing shorts when we entered and we read a notice on the front door , proper dress requened. We were fround upon for being comfortable. The Room was standard nothing special , you can stay at the holiday inn for a whole lot less. The Front desk staff were very offended when we ask for extra towles and an extra pillow for my wifes swollen ankles ! The Food was prepared from a can when eathing dinner. But the only thing realy great is the view of the Lake. But there are plenty of places to stay around , so i'll save my money and stay else were . I urge you to do the same !

Nice place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/14/05
Cheerful, helpful front desk. King bedroom a little small, but bath dressing area larger than average. Coffee always in lobby and basic continental breakfast. Lodge common area on entry has stone-work floors and fireplace. Upper areas nice. Great places to gather if you are here with family/group. Easy stroll to two dining options, restaurant and marina grill. We ate at the marina grill two evenings and found the food/value very reasonable.
