This alternative to Augusta area hotels and motels is Maine's first certified *Environmental Leader* green lodging (2005), received the Maine Governors Award for Environmental Excellence (2004), named *One of 30 Great U.S. Inns* by Travel Leisure magazine (2002), was noted as the *Best of Both Worlds* as an Editors Pick by Yankee Magazine's Travel Guide to New England (2002 and 2003), and rated best bed & breakfast *hands down* by a 1997 statewide newspaper poll.
