Fantasy Inn and Wedding Chapel, South Lake Tahoe

Im not one to write reviews on places i attend, but I thought id give the Fantasy Inn some credit. The reviews I see on here are so bad, Myself and my husband have nothing bad to say about this place. The rooms are not updated, but sure the heck looked decent to us. We loved their heart spa, their beds and set ups were very romantic. I would like to see the t.v updated but other then that I LOVED everything about that place. I think it being outdated gives it the right look. Now a days everything is made new and cheap. If your looking for a updated hotel id suggest you check out the peppermill in Reno, hut if your lookimg for a romantic night or weekend with your hubby this place perfect. We will be visiting again soon.

My husband and I stayed in the mystic mountain room it was fantastic the spa tub was great the fireplace was awesome and the manager Kathy is also amazing...so helpful and easy to get along with...we are going back in April 2012 for our 2nd wedding anniversary!!!

I had heard good things about Fantasy Inn years ago. When the $59 deal for a Princess Room came up I was excited to go check the place out with my fiance. I was SO disappointed. The room was old and shabby looking. Carpets are very worn, towels are rough. The spa is nice, but late at night if nearby rooms use their spa, the noise it creates is very loud and impossible to sleep through. I had considered getting married there this summer. I am so glad I went to check it out beforehand. No way. If I had paid full price for this room I would have been furious. Will I ever return? NEVER! Not even if they gave me a free room.

Like all the previous reviews, I too was charged $250 for a smoking fee when we did not smoke in the room. I have forwarded my complaint to a local watch-dog group after seeing them do a report on the same issue. This place needs to be stopped. Please do not stay here and if anyone reads this report this to your local consumer watch group.

They charged us twice for the same room! And a month AFTER we stayed there, they charged us a smoking fee. We reported it to the BBB and filed a claim with our bank since they over charged us nearly 800 bucks! (not counting the over-draft fees). I am writing this so you guys don't have to go through this pain. The hotel staff started HANGING UP the phone on us after we started calling everyday asking for the manager (who was 'never' there!). I don't trust this place and you shouldn't either. There are a lot of other fun places to stay at Tahoe that won't rip you off.

This place is shady!!!! We spent two nights here and had it all prepaid. When we checked our account a month later, there was a 250.00 charge for smoking in the room!!! We are non-smokers!!! The managers never got back to us. DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!!

I WAS CHARGED 250.00 FOR "SMOKING" IN THE ROOM WHEN IT NEVER HAPPENED, MY GIRLFRIEND HATES SMOKE. THE BBB ALREADY LISTS THIS BUSINESS AS UNSATISFACTORY ON THEIR WEB PAGE. IF YOU DO HAVE A PROBLEM THE OWNER DISSAPEARS AND WILL NOT REUTRN YOUR PHONE CALLS. I NOW HAVE TO CONSIDER A LAWSUITE UNLESS THE BBB CAN PULL THROUGH FOR ME. DONT WASTE YOUE MONEY ON THE SHADIEST PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN

My Husabnd and I stayed back in April for our third wedding anneversary. The hotel looked great when we got in the room the bed was nice and big, but the sheets could of been newer. I had thought the rooms had adult swings and champaign, we actually had to buy the champaign and the glasses for fifteen dollars. When the champaign arrived the bell boy did not have the glasses I had asked him where the glasses were and he said did you need them, yes I sent him back down for them. I liked the room but you can hear the water filling up the hot tub in from the next room. I might go back for the more private room and with the swings included to have a great night with my husband!!!!

i loved the place although it is very hard to find. its very romantic though. i almost broke my leg in the room and they were so helpful.

When we checked in the front desk neglected to tell us that the boiler (hot water)was not working.Tried to take a shower & come to find out there was NO hot water. Anywhere. Front desk had the nerve to tell us that they were going to tell us.We had to look for another hotel room at the drop of the dime not to mention the Fantasy Inn could not refund us right away. Fantasy Inn had our money and had to fork up another $275 for another place to stay. Our money was not put back into the bank account until 7days later. We were told that they would be able to accomidate us if we would call and they would be able get us a room for the inconvenience.So three weeks later we decide to go back.We were told that we needed to speak with a manager.Left 5 messages for a call back and nothing.Once we called again and spoke with the PRESIDENT/OWNER he was VERY rude.First thing he said was "we dont have rooms".We had been calling for the past week and have not heard anything from management.Every time we would call the front desk would tell us not to worry because they had plenty of rooms. Well to our surpirse Fantasy Inn could not accomidate us once again. The Customer Service is not up to par and do not know how to keep a customer satisfied. They do not know how to run a business and will NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
