Sahara de la Mer Resort, Montego Bay

OK - Where do I start? A rude front desk clerk who needs to be dressed properly, a clueless and RUDE manager, nice view but rooms are old and needs updating.

Run! This hotel was probably great 20 years ago, but not now. The pool was empty and the salt water pool was unkept. No internet access as advertised. On a positive note, it was cheap and the rooms were clean.

secluded,buried off the main road,10-15 minutes from downtown Mo-bay.What else could you ask for,how about an extremely friendly and helpfull staff.In a week we became like family. I'am going back within a month and i'am very much looking forward to it.Thanks Sahara for the fun,laughs,but most of all the love. See ya soon. Claude

This hotel is nestled in Unity Hall just about 10 minutes outside of Montego Bay. It is small but has alot to offer if you are looking for a peace of mind. If you are looking for a great place to recoperate then let this be the place. The only draw back is the hotel is very seasonal and does not always have the avaliabilty of a chef at hand to your convienence. Food will need to be ordered or you have the choice of leaving to go in the city. The rooms with the king size beds are spacious and very nice. The surrounding is very quite and the wonderful ocean is there for you to enjoy. The cable can be a problem if you are an avid television watcher, it's chanels tend not to be clear on a constant basic. Like I said before if you are just looking for a great and laid back get away then let this end your search. The staff is very nice.

The best part of the hotel was the staff, cleanliness and the food.. The staff was extremely helpfull and attentive. I think that the website for the hotel is misleading. I went for my honeymoon, September, 2005. During our stay at the hotel, the restaraunt was not open, the 'fresh water' pool looked like anything but fresh water. The cable tv in the room rarely worked and when it did, only gave us clear access to maybe 2 or 3 channels. The hotel is secluded and very far from the center of Montego Bay. So if that is what you want...I guess this is the place to stay.

You can plan your dreams at this hotel. The staff were wonderful. This is a place you can really chill. Yes it's a hidden treasure. Please put some pictures on the internet..
