Fairfield Inn Dothan, Dothan

The staff at the front desk was very nice.We were booked into the wrong rooms initially, the gentleman at the front desk promptly fixed the problem. We were then booked into our 2 double rooms that we had requested. I had a strange odor in the room that my daughter picked. I assumed that it was because the rooms air had not been on and it was stuffy. We turned on the air to circulate while we went about our activities in Dothan. We decided to get air freshener while we were out-good decision! We got back to the room about 10PM and the odor was still there(not as strong). We sprayed with odor neutralizer and this took care of the problem. The bathrooms were ok but not exactly pristine.The character of the room was a typical run of the mill hotel room with nothing to particularly stand out and say WOW. The doors for neither of our rooms did not close unless you pulled them to securely when leaving or pushed firmly when going in . We have stayed at numerous Farefield Inns in both AL/FL in the last year on weekend getaways and none of them have been this disappointing.The 2006 reviews about the continential breakfast and eating area has not changed,though this was not something we actually tried as you could not get to that area for others trying to stand to eat-we went out. I really hate that I can't find anything good to say about my stay here no matter how nice the front desk was to us.

the free breakfast is not free it is 7.00 per person. local phone calls 50 cents each. the cocktail lounge closes at 11pm.close to 100.00 for room on saturday night. the other area hotels are cheaper and you get free breakfast...free local phone calls...blew my mind! average price for a room in this area around 40.00. this hotel is the only one in the area with indoor pool and jacuzzi. but the front desk people told us about free breakfast in the am and the cocktail lounge info. we ate breakfast there and it was called buffet. the waitstaff was excellant! food was good. you can dine there even if you are not staying in hotel. pretty place. several restaurants and bars right in front of hotel just steps away.

When we arrived at the Fairfield it was a little late and we needed some juice for our 1 year old so the personell at the front desk went to the hotel next door and got some apple juice and delivered it to my room. Not only that but the indoor swimming pool was great for the kids scince it was winter at the time. So I would have to say that this hotel is the best in town.

Asked at desk, for a good steak house nearby..Was told about a place locals go to, and because of the friendly way we were treated at Fairfield, we stay there whenever we pass through Dothan.
