Two Trees Inn at Foxwoods, Ledyard

Received a call 1 week prior to my reservation telling me that they were moving me to the MGM Grand because they had overbooked. Before I agreed, I asked for an email describing the room that I would be getting. When no email arrived, I contacted Two Trees Inn to be informed that the call was an error on their part as the MGM does not have suites and therefore I would not be transferred. Recently found out that the MGM does have 2 bed suites. My reservation was for a suite with 2 queen beds as we were 4 people. Arrived at the hotel and while no one was in line the host/reception person continued to work on something and would not acknowledge that I was standing in front of her. I finally asked if I could check in and she responded that she would be with me in a minute. Continued to work for another 30 seconds and then acknowledge my presense. When I presented her with my reservation, she stated that she only had a suite with a single king size bed. When I showed her my reservation she stated that on-line it is noted that they do not guarantee any speicific room just the rate and that she did not have any rooms available with two beds. ( I have since looked on line and cannot find this disclaimer but even if it is there this is simply bad policy ) When I questioned the reason for allowing me to book a two bed suite she stated that this is the policy of all hotels and that you are never guaranteed to get the room that you select. Challenging her only resulted in talking to a manager that was even more arrogant about their policy and my inability to read the fine print noted on their website. When I told the manager that I was contacted a week earlier and that the converstation resulted in confirmation of my 2 bedroom suite, the manager informed me that she had been with the hotel for 5 years and they had never transferred people from Two Trees to the MGM. The suite that we got does not not look anything like the pictures on site so beware because what you see and what your book are not what you get but if you want an attitude, this is the right place for you to stay.

The Trees Inn is the type of place you'd want to stay if you really don't care about what type of room you stay in. First, I'd complain about the price of the room but I used my AAA card. I recommend using it at this place because you can get a pretty decent discount. Now onto the hotel itself. I've read alot of the reviews on here complaining about the staff. The desk service was mediocre at best, not one smiling person at that desk. I work at a hospital information desk and I know how frustrating it can be to deal with the public, but a smile goes a long way even if you're having a rotten day! However, the Housekeeping staff was very friendly. The room we stayed in wasn't anything fancy, typical standard hotel room. I HATED the fact that you had wireless internet access in the lobby only and dial up in the rooms. We didn't use the dial up feature because the girl at the desk said it costs the guests to have them turn it on through the phone! The rug on the floor in our room had a black stain on it (eeew). The air conditioner was noisy and the toilet scared the heck out of us every time it flushed because it had a huge BAAWOOOOUUUUSH sound to it. (Al Bundy would be proud). It puts Furgeson to shame...:). But on a positive side, the shower was excellent, the lobby was beautiful and the 24 hour shuttle service was amazing! We did walk to Foxwoods a few times and the pathway to it was very convenient! Parking was numerous and the doorway access to each part of the hotel was good too. All in all not the best hotel in that area, but it could have been worse.

I decided not to go to atlantic city , for easter and try Fox wood casino , (Two Trees Inn) Wow besides gambling it was worth the education my children gained about the indians and the british .. the room service was OUTSTANDING we had just returned from the museum , and decided to go to the pool , so since the room were fixed we just left all of our belongings and every thing on the bed, we returned two hours later to find chocolate candy on the pillows,, Wow can u emagine if they were lowlifes and took our $$ and credit cards .. NOTHING WAS TAKEN .. I LATER GAVE EACH GIRL TEN DOLLARS FOR THEIR RESPECT AND DEDICATION .. just one minor problem !! ONE pool attendant NAMED LARRY needs INTERPERSONAL COMUNICATION SKILLS . IF U READ THIS LARRY B/4 U TELL A KID TO GET OUT OF THE HOT TUB WHILE THEY R WITH THEIR PARENTS , I SUGGEST U PULL ONE OF THE PARENTS TO THE SIDE FIRST . OTHER THENN THAT THE CHILDREN ARE CRAZY ABOUT RETURNING IN THIS SUMMER.

I recently stayed at The Two Trees during The Contender fight at the MGM Grand. I recieved good service especially from the housekeeping personnel. I would like to thank Beatrice of housekeeping and Carl, who was the housekeeping manager on duty the day I checked in.We got there early due to the arrival of our plane and it was way before check-in. We arrived at about 10-10:30am- (check in is 4:00). They got a room ready for my daughter at 12:00 noon which we stayed in. I talked to Beatrice at about 2:00pm and she promptly went to clean a room for me. They had a mix up and Carl came to talk to me. They had my room ready about an hour after that. Thank you again to Beatrice and Carl.

If your looking for a small quiet inn then you will like,Its not nothing fancy but clean.The pool was small and cold but the hot tub was hot.Check in was quick and easy,the staff was very pleasent. We ask for more coffee in our room,they were there in minutes with enough coffee for a week. We got the room on line for 49.00 a night for a king size bed, me and my husband went for two nights for a late valentines gift for each other.We had fun at foxwoods but it was nice to come back to a quiet inn.The shuttle runs every fifteen minutes to foxwoods which was nice we never had to wait.We stayed on the back side and didnt here the shuttle all night.I dont know why this inn has so many bad reveiws we enjoyed ourselfs.I guess some people you can never please.

i thought the room was very nice for the money, foxwoods wanted 440,00 for thanksgiving night and i paid 100.00 at two trees. the shuttle was there all night long and very safe, the drivers were very nice. i would stay there again to save money. i thought the girls at the check-in were nice and friendly, sometimes there are snotty people no matter where you are, but i didn't encounter any. rather stay at foxwwods ofcourse,but for 300.00 less two trees is just fine.

My wife & I found the 2 Trees Inn to be a very nice hotel, at a bargain basement price ( considering the MGM Grand was $400/nite ! ). I am wheelchair bound and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and more than adequate for our needs. We needed help with our bags , at check-in & check-out, and the staff functioned like a well-oiled machine, and THAT fact alone made our stay a more than enjoyable experience. "Easy-in & easy-out" are always high priority when paying for a hotel stay. In closing, I would easily stay at the 2 Trees Inn again, rather than get price gouged at one of the casinos. I'm not some high roller, so I don't need whole lot of " bells & whistles " in a hotel room while on a gambling trip. But,........If I were to nit-pick....#1) the rooms need bigger TVs to match the consoles they are housed in!!..., talk about a "padded bra"....#2) Foxwoods inc. will need to invest in alot more shuttle buses. We went to see the Joy Beyhar/ Whoopi Goldberg comedy show @ the MGM Grand...after the program, it was like "chaos in the cold ", as hundreds of cold, unorganized people( some in wheel chairs like myself) had to elbow their way onto the initial fleet of arriving shuttle buses. What are they gonna do when it's -20*, with lots of blowing snow in the air?

we just love taking our time just too sit on the proch and watch and talk to different people .the food is good ,the service is very nice. we can't wait too come back again as we do every two year's.YOUR inn is very clean and very peaceful AND THE SERVICE IS [5]STARS.

I have read people's reviews saying that it was too far from the Casino....well you must be just plain lazy! I was there in October of 06 and I admit it wasnt the warmest but the walk was not as bad as people said. You get to walk along a trail which is nice to see. We took the shuttle a few times as well and was not that bad, but would also not mind walking! We checked in around 2 and had requested with reservations for a NON smoking room. At check in they informed us that there were no more non smoking rooms which didnt make sense since we "reserved" a room to be non smoking. The room absolutely stunk of cigarettes and cigars (YUCK). Besides that the resort was good. Benefitial to location and price. Will stay again but will definately make sure to get a NON Smoking room!!!

Food and prices were good at the restaurant hotel was clean and close to foxwoods but the room was over priced for what you got better off to pay little more to stay at the foxwoods casino and the staff in front of the desk and in the restaurant were very snotty made you fell like they were so much better then you especially the restaurant staff were worse then front desk people when they were talking in their foreign lanquage they were talking about the customers in a negitive way because I spoke the same language I did not say anything because if I did say something I know it would of gotten blown off cause they were all friends.
