Baymont Inn & Suites Joplin, Joplin

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever been in. From the bed linens being dirty, to the bra left by someone outside the door, it was a nightmare. Their idea of business center was a computer with a printer. There is no excuse for dirt

The stay at Baymont in Joplin, MO was a last minute trip. We stayed there because our family friends were staying there. The reservation was easy to make and the personnel on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The place has an indoor pool and hot tub which was nice. The kids played in it for a few minutes while we were there and liked it. The breakfast was decent and they kept it out for a while longer since we were late getting there. The room was nice size and had nice decor, a loveseat, and a desk. I would probably stay there again. It was close by restaurants and shopping.

We made reservations for a 2-night stay. Upon check-in, we were told by the girl at the front desk that there might already be someone in our room, and if so to just come back and she'll give us a key to another room. Once we were in the room - all by ourselves, thankfully - we noticed how badly the room needed updates. The air was damp and moldy and there was a funny smell. The next day we slept in due to our late arrival the previous night, so we hung the Do Not Distrub sign on the door. Housekeeping knocked loudly on the door anyway. When we left the room that day we called to make sure the room would still get serviced. We were assured it would. When we returned that night, it hadn't. Our beds weren't made and we had no clean towels. Upon calling the front desk, we were told they were out of towels, but they could bring us pool towels. They showed up with rags and pool towels. We will never stay there again.

Hotel appeared to be managed by teenagers. The telephone in our room was inoperable. Went to the front desk, a young employee came and fiddled with the phone, stated he would bring another and never returned! Telephone was out of service our entire stay. Later in the evening, I went to the front desk about a missing piece to the coffee pot in our room and was told by the young lady manning the front desk, there was nothing she could do about it; her attitude was very rude. I was absolutely disgusted with her actions. The staff we encountered were very young and unprofessional. We have stayed at Baymont Inns before that provided excellent service but the Inn in Joplin was pitiful. Would suggest the staff complete training in how to deal with customers if the establishment would like to enjoy repeat customers.
