Hell would be a step up from this place. RUN
OK, I am in this place right now. Luckily, for one night only or I would die.
I will start with the bathroom. It does have running water or I would have called it an upgraded outhouse. You have to hold the handle down on the toilet for about 30 seconds for the thing to flush. The tub has hairs in it and is grimey. I scrubbed it but the water still has not gone down. The vanity countertop is nice but is dirty. The vanity door is falling off. The tray that the ice bucket sits on has blue sticky goo all over it. The wallpaper is pieced together... I don't mean that you can see that strips off paper I mean that it is put up with some areas that are maybe 12inches by 18 inches (where a strip should be). It also has parts that have peeled off and have not been replaced. The floor tiles are nice but they are dirty. The ceiling is a drop ceiling that was painted and now the paint is peeling and chipping off! It still has one of those sun lamps from the 70's in the bathroom.
The room itself smells. I can't even describe it as I have never smelled anything like it before and hope I never do again. The wallpaper is dirty but doesn't seem old or too beaten up. The windows are really bad, like they haven't been cleaned in months. The window sill has peeling paint which I would say is a big issue if you have young children as I know this is an older building (It used to be the Lincoln Lodge Motel 20+ years ago) and I would worry about lead paint residue. The desk is big and is actually clean and has 2 chairs that are a bit worn but clean. There is no iron nor an ironing board as the website states. Also, there is no alarm clock as advertised either. The beds are terribly hard and the pillows are flat and old. The bedspreads and drapes are very old, faded and outdated. The refridgerator was useless as it was ice-laden and needed to be defrosted. The telephone did not work however they did have someone come switch it out for a newer phone. The new one is maybe from the 80's as opposed to the older 1970's model! The lighting is awful. It is so dark in here it isn't funny. The cable TV wire comes in from next to the door and is "covered" by a curtain rod with tape on the back of it! The electric outlet that the light between the beds plugs into is missing. It is just a hole in the wall. The A?C unit is nasty with dust. Oh, and the peep hole in the door.... you can see into the room through as well as out. There were also envelopes left on top of the dresser. (I hope they aren't expecting a tip)!
I am looking out to the pool area which is awful. The pool does look clean but it has a liner in it. I have never seen an inground pool with a liner. I have one at my house and it is all tile. The deepest is 4 1/2 ft. There are old chairs out there. The concrete deck around the pool is painted but the paint is all peeling there too!
A man staying in an adjacent room was sleeping with his door half open. He was partially covered by the sheets but you could see his "tighty whiteys" sticking out. I had to move my daughter past there quickly. I am so furious!
Finally, the staff is not very friendly. They seemed annoyed over the phone problem. Oh well.
Please, don't waste you money. It is an awful place and potentially dangerous as well. I will be contacting the building inspector and corperate because this place is scary. I stayed here over 20 years ago when it was the Lincoln Lodge and it was really nice and affordable. I always had a great experience.
As for me, this is going to be a sleepless night. Hubby has to sleep as we have a long drive tomorrow and my daughter has to sleep. I just don't feel safe here. This is a filthy, dirty, scary and possibly dangerous and hazardous place. Stay safe and don't stay here.
